    Ralph felt her shiver and quickly took off his jacket to put it on her. “Are you cold? It’s freezing out here.


    Why don’t you have some rest in my cozy suite upstairs? I’ll drive you backter.”


    “No, I can’t stay any longer. I have something to do and have to go.” Hannah felt Ralph’s body heat on


    the jacket and struggled inwardly. She could not bear to leave but knew she had to.


    “Annie, did I do anything to upset you? Tell me what I’ve done wrong, and I’ll change. What’s the matter


    with you, Annie? Annie?” He knew she would be amenable if he called her by that name. He kept


    doing so, but it no longer worked for some reason.
