When Lily entered, she made an “OK” sign with her thumb and index finger behind her back. She knew
that Alexander could see her.

Lily put down the half piece of uneaten toast and brushed her hands before she looked up at him and

“I know you rejected Mr. Parker’s invitation back in Westwood and insisted oning home. I also
heard your patriotic remarks, and I must admit that I admire you for that but… don’t you have any ns

director, and even the vice president or president one day?”
“Then I’ll be at the peak of my career?” Lily went along with what he said but had no wishes for that at
