    His voice sounded particrly cold. Even the words were squeezed out from between his teeth.

    jokingly when he walked past me, "You''re the only woman here, Ms. Lane. No one wants you to do


    the rough work but you''ve never stopped. It must be hard on you."


    I had been squatting on the ground, and my legs felt numb when I stood up. Even my shoulders felt

    Mr. Collins. Let''s take a break and try out the fruits that are freshly picked from the trees."
