Chapter 243 : Fragile


    With her blurry vision, Arabe watched the ne start to lift in the air.


    She could feel the trembling of her nerves inside. Her face was cold but heavy.


    When she forced her weak body to stand, it stumbled backed on the ground.


    With tears continued filling her eyes, her vision cked out in an instant.


    “Adam! Adam! Adam!” Arabe woke up in the hospital screaming her son’s name.


    Eric was startled and held her shoulder and hand.


    It had been two days since she was brought there and Eric never left her side.


    Last night, Arabe seemed to catch a nightmare as she was sobbing in her sleep.


    The doctor said she was in a good condition only Arabe wanted to remember everything that her


    mind was traveling to where Adam was taken.


    Eric could not just stand and watch Arabe’s tears fall like rain in her slumber.


    Her chest was heavily heaving up and down while her eyes were closed.


    Eric tried to call Bill Sky personally.


    He had his personal number as theirpanies made several business transactions before when they


    didn’t have Arabe.


    They were not friends but they were not enemies.


    They were casual as theirpanies were business partners sometimes in a project.


    Bill Sky''s number was out of reach.


    So, Eric called his secretary to gather the information he wanted to know.


    “Sir, as far my investigation goes, Mr. Bill Sky hasn’t seen in thepany for two days now as well as


    Adam. He didn’t go to school for two days now.”


    “Hmmm…” Eric just muttered trying to analyze everything.


    He had a bad feeling about it but he wanted confirmation.


    With his money and power, Bill Sky could do anything.


    If Bill had signed the divorce contract that could only mean he was determined to wipe out Arabe in


    Adam and his life.


    He had nothing to do with her anymore.


    That could only lead to his thought that Bill brought Adam abroad to be away from her.


    “Sh*T!” Eric could not hold himself.


    He was in a big dilemma on how he could tell Arabe about it.


    His money and connections could not help her right now.


    Though Eric still had his eyes in other countries activated, no one could still find Bill Sky.


    If only he was just looking for an ordinary man, it would not cause him any problem.


    It would just be a matter of approximately 10 minutes to find an ordinary guy with his connections in


    different countries.


    But Bill Sky is Bill Sky.


    He was like finding a needle that was dropped in the ocean.

    “Keep on monitoring Bill Sky and Adam’s whereabouts,” Eric ordered and dropped the call.


    He was praying that somehow, Bill Sky would just in a business trip tagging his son along with him.


    Then Eric heaved a heavy sigh releasing his frustrations on the situation.


    Three days had passed when Arabe waspletely discharged from the hospital.


    Inside the car, he could see Arabe was excited.


    She seemed to be back in her normal vigor and was full of life again.


    Seeing this Eric could not feel his happiness instead he felt something bad about it.


    He waspletely bothered by her happy aura.


    “Brother…” Arabe called Eric’s name along with a sweet smile.


    Eric instantly felt goosebumps.


    After all the nights of sobbing in her sleep, she smiled as nothing had happened.


    “Hmmm…” Eric answered her. He wanted to know what she was thinking and why she was smiling.


    He admitted that he didn’t know her that well but his analysis about a person who had gone through


    dark days could not smile just like that unless her problem had been solved. But for Arabe, solving


    her problem was a pie in the sky.


    “We have to hurry. I am excited to hug my son.” Arabe excitedly uttered. There were sparks in her


    eyes while she slightly giggled in excitement.


    Hearing Arabe, Eric froze.


    For a moment he ran out for words to say.


    He could not react immediately.


    The problem he thought earlier was nothingpared to the new one.


    Not a single thought crossed his mind that Arabe would forget everything that happened, the reason


    why she was admitted to the hospital.


    He looked at Arabe with full of pity.


    “Brother, are you okay?” Arabe immediately asked seeing his worried expression.


    Eric regained his senses hearing Arabe’s question.


    He tried hard not to give her a hint about the painful scene of her but he could not hide how he pitied


    her.


    “Hmmm… Just a quick second. Stay here. Okay? I forgot something inside.” Eric answered Arabe


    with an alibi.


    Arabe just smiled along with a nod.


    Eric quickly went out of the car and hid in a corner.


    He got his phone and called Arabe’s personal doctor.


    He got her one of the best doctors in Capital Z as he could not rely on just some doctors in the hospital.


    “Dr. Wood, Arabe could not remember what she went through. How could this be possible?” Eric had


    no time to greet the doctor properly. He was just sneaking so he had not enough time to talk longer


    than one minute.


    “I’m very sorry about that Mr. Grant.” The doctor immediately apologized as he could not afford to lose


    a very important client. “Please don’t worry about her. I had not detected anyplications in her brain.


    Her situation now is more psychological. Arabe doesn’t want to ept the real situation that she


    tends to believe on what she wanted to see and feel.” The doctor politely exined.


    “What medicine we can give her?” Eric’s voice was full of worries.


    “I’m sorry Mr. Grant but the only medicine is herself. She had to ept the real situation she is in no


    matter what. One thing we can give her is medicine to calm her down after her break down.” The doctor


    continued. “But…” Mr. Wood stopped.


    Eric got nervous when Dr. Wood stopped.


    He could feel another bad thing would happen to her.


    “What is it?” He hurriedly asked to kill the palpitation in his heart.


    “If she would have a breakdown, we could not predict or assure what would happen next. The survival


    of the patient is depending on her mind and body to reciprocate and process the medication. Not


    everyone would survive and others wentpletely insane.” The doctor continued in a low tone. It was


    obvious that he didn’t want to scare his VIP client but he was doing his best to implement his task as a


    doctor.


    Hearing Dr. Wood, Eric froze on his spot.

    He was not prepared for the information about Arabe’s situation.

    Eric refused the uncertainties in his mind.


    He would not give up on her.


    "Don’t worry, Mr. Grant, I will do a daily check-up on her to assure her well-being.” Not hearing Eric’s


    reply on the other line, Dr. Wood sounded to appease Eric.


    Eric heaved heavily then he dropped the call.


    He understood Arabe’s situation now but he could not bear to see her copse again.


    Eric was in a very big problematic situation right now.


    He was caught in the middle of telling Arabe the whole truth or letting her forget the situation for a


    little while.


    First time in his life, he could not think properly. He was always analytical and could solve a problem in


    less than a minute.


    But now, his mind was in aplete mess.


    He felt useless in the situation and he could not help her again.


    What if she breaks down upon hearing the truth?


    What if she copsed?


    What if her body can’t reciprocate with the medication?


    What if she won’t allow the medication?


    There were so many things weighing in Eric’s mind until he decided to let Arabe forget everything for


    now.


    He wanted her to smile and be happy even for a little while.


    She had too much suffering because of Bill Sky.


    Thinking about him made Eric clench his hands into fists.


    He just hoped their ways would not cross again and so Arabe.


    If Arabe would get over with her situation, he would not allow her to see Bill Sky again.


    He would not allow Bill Sky to bully her again.


    If possible, he would not allow Arabe to remember Bill Sky again.


    He would wipe Bill Sky in her memory as he didn’t deserve to upy her mind.


    After a second of calming himself, he went back inside the car where Arabe was patiently waiting for


    him.


    Seeing him settling in the driver’s seat, Arabe greeted him with her sweetest smile again.


    His heart instantly got broken.


    Whenever Eric was dealing with Arabe, he preferred to drive on his own.


    He felt she was safer when he was the one to take care of everything for her.


    They were already near his house and Eric was nervous about what’s gonna happen.


    Arabe’s smile was never leaving her face.


    The sparks in her eyes were glued in it.


    Her excitement was screaming all over her and it added up to Eric’s tension.


    What was going to be her reaction if she could not find Adam in his house?


    Should he call Dr. Wood to standby? Or he would prepare him a room in his house to standby for


    Arabe.


    Eric''s mind was a mess while he deliberately slowed down his speed.


    He didn’t want to go home but he knew Arabe would be disappointed if he would drive her away from


    home.


    As the gate of his house opened, Eric’s heartbeat was very fast.


    He didn’t want to see Arabe’s breakdown.


    He didn’t want to see her tears again and her weak body on the ground.


    “Brother, stop the car. We are here.” Arabe’s voice made him back to his senses.


    His mind was so messy that he didn’t notice that they were already in front of his house.


    Arabe quickly opened her door and ran inside the house like she was so away for a long time from


    her son and she missed him a lot.


    Eric pulled the car over and chased Arabe who already entered his house.


    He had to be beside her so that whatever happened to her he would be the one to catch her or picked


    her up.


    His heart was saddened by her situation and the fact that he could not do anything added up.


    He hated everything about the situation but he was still thankful that he had the opportunity to take care


    of her.


    Seeing her again was already a blessing for him.


    He was beside her and she was beside him.


    Under his watch, no one could hurt her again and that was enough for now.


    “Adam! Adam! Mommy is here! Where are you, honey?” Arabe strode inside the house gracefully.


    She went directly to Adam’s room but the boy wasn’t there.


    She decided to go to the study room thinking the boy spent his time reading books while she was away


    but there’s no Adam.


    “Honey,e out! Mommy missing you a lot.” Arabe smiled while she uttered her words lovingly.


    She went back to the living room and entered the theater room but still, there was no Adam.


    Instead of getting hopeless, Arabe’s smile didn’t leave her face.


    She seemed so sure that Adam would not go anywhere but to stay and wait for her in the house.


    Eric’s mansion was huge.


    She went to all rooms and check out Adam but there was no Adam.


    Still, her eyes were filled with sparks as she continued to find her son in the big mansion.


    Eric was just following her muted.


    Arabe was sure she had gone to all the rooms in the house.


    She stopped in the dining area and drink some water.


    The big mansion could drain her strength and made her thirsty.


    Then she continued to find her son.


    She walked outside to the garden first.


    Again, it was a huge garden but she was full of energy that she could see Adam there but until she


    made around, she only concluded Adam was not in the garden.


    Lastly, she walked in the pathway adjacent to the pool area.


    “Adam? Adam!” Finally, she saw the boy with his goggles in the pool.


    She excitedly ran closer to him.


    The boy swam to the nearest stair where he could climb and get up from the water.


    Then he strode towards Arabe.


    They met halfway and they hugged each other.


    Eric froze behind them.


    “Oh, my love. I miss you so much.” Arabe hugged him tightly. She felt like she had not seen him for


    years and she missed him a lot.


    “I miss you too, mommy.” The boy responded in Arabe’s embrace.
