Iy in bed staring up at the crescent moon all night long. Sleeping in the room that was next to
Reuben’s was already distracting me, especially when we were only separated by a wall. Whenever
I closed my eyes to sleep, Reuben’s words echoed in my mind again and again.
“There is nothing between E and I.”
“We are fiancee only on paper.
“E does not love me and I don’t love E.”

I rested my hand over my crazy heartbeat as I sat up on the bed. Why was I not able to forget it? He
has to be lying to me. The news of his marriage was all over the media. She was his fiancee,
everything had beenid bare in front of my eyes, yet my wolf was suddenly calm after Reuben’s
earlier im. I had felt sincerity in his im that he did not love E.
‘Lonly want you…’ his words echoed in my ears as my heart started to drum in my chest again.
“No… stop thinking about it,” I buried my face in my hands and wanted to scream.
The whole night, I had been struggling with diving into different pools of emotion that had been
raised by Reuben’s im. I was torn between the betrayal of the past, trust, and the present. The
night felt as long as a year yet I had not managed to catch an hour’s sleep.
With the first ray of sun, I got up from my bed, stripped out of my clothes, and went for a run in the
woods. To help keep my emotions in check, I let Ceri out. I had to let my wolf out otherwise I was
going to go crazy with all the thoughts that I continued to turn over in my head.
Ceri ran so fast it seemed like she was riding the wind. We had missed the
greenery here so much. This was the first time I had let Ceri out in too many months to count. Back
in Britain I had to be cautious. Shifting in your own territory was one thing but shifting in while in
random woods was far too risky. If someone would have spotted a white wolf in the woods then it
would have been huge news and incredibly dangerous for us so I had hardly shifted in the past 6

I passed the small bridge and entered another part of the woods. I was familiar with every corner of
the Emerald Bright Pack territory including the woods. I had spent. some of my most formative
years here after all. Enjoying the greenery, I ran for hours until I reached deep into the woods,
ending up in a ce that was normally avoided by wolves in the pack.
Slowing my pace, I nced at therge sacred cave where I had only been once before. It was the
ce where the rejection ceremony was held. Since it was actually a location that was designed to
be a ce where sadness, tears, and broken bonds wereid to rest, people avoided evening
within eyesight of it.
I stopped in front of the cave ncing at it with mixed emotions. Three months from now, I would
have to return here. So that I couldplete the rejection ceremony. All the thoughts that had
churned in my mindst night cleared when I saw the cave. It was like reality pped me hard
across the face, clearing my mind of all the nonsense I had been clouding it with.
“Did youe here to check if the cave is really sealed or not?’ A sudden mind-link surprised me. I
had not received a mind-link for thest six years.
Startled, I looked ahead of me to find a big ck Alpha wolf standing in front of me. It was Dex.
What was he doing here?
But wait, had Reuben… actually mind-link me? Since I had abandoned the Emerald Bright Pack,
breaking all ties with them in the past, it should be impossible for Reuben to mind-link me. So…

‘Because he is our soulmate, Ceri replied, surprising me further. She talked to me again!
When I did not answer why I was here, Reuben frowned, I could see his thoughts starting to run
wild again.
“You came all the way out here. It seems you cannot wait for rejection,” he growled. Why was he so
triggered by me being here? His dark green eyes were fixed on me, boring deep into mine like he
never learnt how to blink. The more he stared at me like that the more I felt as if he wanted to
swallow me whole.
Suddenly he started walking over to me. My heart quickened by his sudden action. What was he
thinking? I quickly took a few steps back, doubtful of his intentions. We were alone in the woods,
especially in this isted area where he could do anything he wanted with me!

I immediately turned around and decided to leave with quick steps but just as I turned a ck wolf
blocked my path. Reuben shifted into his human form and stood there as naked as the day he was
born in front of me.
My eyes widened and my face turned red in shame, ‘What the hell are you doing?’ I yelled at him
through a mind-link. Compared to six years ago his body looked stronger than ever. My eyes
subconsciously went to his eight pack abs then his manhood. My face turned scarlet and I looked
away. Sh it! How was it that after all these years his manhood looked even longer and thicker.
He smirked at my reaction, “It is not like you have never seen me naked,” he knelt in front of me and
brushed a hand through my fur, “Why are you being so shy, Willow?” he spoke softly as he locked
eyes with me and whispered, “Remember, you have even touched, ridden, and f ucked it.”
My face turned redder at his statement. The memories of the wild sex we shared in the past flooded
in my mind, causing me to burn with embarrassment. “If your memory is weak, should I remind
you?” his eyes shone with lust and desire as his hand boldly began roaming through my fur.
“You!” I wriggled and bit his hand hard but surprisingly he showed no sign of pushing me back or
pulling his hand from my mouth.
That’s when I realized I had fallen into his trap. I immediately let his hand go and tried to run but he
caught me. “Are you running after ogling my naked body?”
My eyes widened, “Are you insane? Who said I was enjoying your nakedness?” I snapped at his
crazy words.
“Still you saw me naked right? I felt molested,” he used.
“Molested?” I red at him for such a low handed usation. That shameless man was molested
by me?!
“How about you shift into your human form too?” he suggested.
A chill ran down to my spin. If I shifted then… I would be naked in front of his eyes!
“Nonsense!” I growled and tried to run away but he caught me quickly in hisrge hands. The next
thing I knew my wolf was lifted in the air.

“Let go!” I did not obey him.
“I said don’t move,” he softly nipped my wolf’s ear, sending sparks all over my body. Ceri let out a
low moan and I felt like I melted in Reuben’s arms. What was that?
I froze in his arms, shocked by my own reaction. I was feeling hot all over my body. That’s when I
noticed the direction that he was walking in.
“Where are you taking me?” I asked in a panic.
“Back to the pack.”
My mind went nk at his remark. He was naked and holding me. If someone saw us together in
this condition then…
“No! Stop. Put me down! Put me down, Reuben!” I demanded.
“Why?”
“We can’t enter the pack in this condition! Put some clothes on, Reuben! And let me put on mine!” I
demanded.
“I thought you did not want to shift…”
I red at him furiously, “I will shift. So put me the f uck down,” I gritted my teeth.
A satisfied smile appeared on his lips when I agreed to shift. He slowly put me down. “Don’t run
away or I really will carry you into the pack like this,” he warned me.
“I ignored him and went behind a tree to don my loose shirt and shorts. The whole time I was
slipping into the clothes, I felt Reuben watching the tree that I was changing behind. A few minutes
later when I came out, he was already wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
Reuben nced at my long bare legs then shifted his eyes at my sweaty neck. I acted as if I did not
notice him checking me out and started to walk away. He followed me closely the whole time
without making a sound, whenever I looked back his eyes were
set on me.
I ignored him and quickened my pace. Wyatt and Lori must have woken up by now. I had lost track
of time, so I had to return to the packhouse soon. Yesterday they had eaten the food made by
Omegas but today I had to cook for them.
An hourter, we finally made it out of the woods but once I stepped into the front yard. of the

“What is going on?!” I raced inside the packhouse, passing by the crowd, and pulled Wyatt and Lori
into my arms,
