Chapter 389
Upon hearing the two daughters-inwforting each other, Hansen was moved. Mia, being a new
mom and quite young, was always taken care of by Naomi, who was always giving her advice.
Naomi sometimes got confused when it came to her son, but smart and articte Mia knew how to
persuade and advise her in return.
People often say, when the women of the household are together, the home will be peaceful. The
Cedillo family was so now. They were not worried about the brothers bing enemies, instead, there
was the picture of brotherly love. The two sisters-inw got along well and warmly.
Craving her delicious donuts, Mia unconsciously made her way to the coffee table where they were
ced. She picked one up and handed it to Naomi. “Naomi, try this. It’s really good. Molly
rmended it.”
Hansen chimed in, “Yes, yes, it tastes great. Naomi, you should really try it. Mia brought it all the way
for you.”
Naomi finally picked it up and began to eat. “Hmm! It really is good. Where did you get it?”

In the hospital, the family of four sat together, chatting. Molly asked her mother, “Mom, Mia is about to
have a baby in a few months. What should I, as an aunt, gift the baby?”
Coleen replied, “It’s still early. Don’t rush. When it’s almost time, buy a set of clothes for the baby and a
little bracelet.”
Molly nodded. “Alright, when my brother is discharged, I’ll ask him to apany me to the mall.”
Coleen teasingly added, “You always want to shop with your brother.”
“I always argue with you when we go shopping. If it’s not you getting mad at me, it’s me getting mad at
you. My brother never bothers with my selections, and he never says no and just directly pays for it. I’m
not a fool, of course. I’d choose my brother to apany me.”
Coleen pointed out, “Your brother’s free time is all used up with you. He doesn’t even have time to get
a girlfriend.”
In a teasing tone, Molly responded, “Mom, how about I be your daughter-inw?”
Coleen yfully tapped her daughter’s head. “Stop being silly.”
Molly, pretending to tease her parents, leaned on Chad’s shoulder. “Chad, shall I be your girlfriend?”
Chadughed and said, “Sure.”
Everyone in the room thought Chad was just ying along with his sister, so they didn’t take it
seriously. Molly’s face instantly turned red. The flush even reached her ears. She tried to keep her
Kendrick, assuming the children were just messing around, quietly scolded them a bit, but didn’t take it
too seriously. Molly was careless and didn’t mind being scolded by her parents. After a while, she went
to Kendrick’s side. “Dad, don’t you think your daughter is particrly good-looking?”
A loving smile spread across Kendrick’s face. “Go away. You’re not nearly as good-looking as your
mom.”
Coleen chimed in, “Did you hear that? Comparing yourself to your mother in terms of beauty, you lost.”
Unperturbed, Molly retorted, “Ugh, in a few days I’ll go back to Hansen. He’ll definitely say I’m the
prettiest.”
Coleenter stated a truth, “You’re only beautiful in your brother’s eyes.”
Molly looked at Chad. “No, the most beautiful woman in my brother’s eyes is cheerleader from his
university, a particrly cooldy. Isn’t that right, Chad?”
Chad responded, “Why bring up past matters? We’re talking about you. You’re beautiful.”
The chatter in the hospital room never ceased. With the grandparents at home, Coleen and Kendrick
stayed until around 3 in the afternoon before leaving.
Before leaving, Coleen instructed her daughter, “If you don’t want to sleep on the sofa, there are
foldable beds outside for less than 200 bucks. Don’t take your brother’s bed.”
“Ah, I know. At noon today it was a mistake. Tonight when youe to deliver food, you’ll definitely see
a considerate Molly.”
Coleen countered, “Who told you I wille tonight to deliver food for you?”

Unable to argue with her daughter, Coleen decided to leave.
Kendrick had beenughing heartily the whole time. Once they were in the elevator, he thought of his
daughter’s quick wit and felt proud.
Coleen pointed out, “Your daughter’s sharp tongue is a problem, but in your eyes, it turns into her being
articte.”
Kendrick’s bizarre pride kicked in. “Baby, are you saying our daughter is not outstanding? Who can
beat her at eloquence? Look at my sister’s family, and the children of your sisters. Which one is as
good as our daughter?”
In Coleen’s heart, there was no need forparison. Surely, their daughter was the best.
“Let’s go home early. We still have to deliver food to the kids tonight.”

Molly imed that when her mother came to deliver food, she could take care of her brother very
thoughtfully. When Coleen came to deliver food at six o’clock, this time her daughter was not sleeping
on her son’s hospital bed. Instead, she started to kneel behind Chad, unlocked his neck brace and
began to gently massage his neck, all while watching a movie on Chad’s lifted phone.

along with her.
Coleen questioned, “Why is your brother serving you again?”
“This is clearly me serving my brother. I’m massaging him.” Chad had made up a kind lie at noon, so
Molly believed she really could massage. Therefore, she had been massaging Chad’s neck for over
forty minutes that afternoon. And Chad had been holding up the phone for her for over forty minutes.
Molly took the phone from behind him, paused the movie, and put it in her pocket. She then put the
neck brace back on Chad. Afterwards, she got off the bed to receive the food box her mother was
holding. “Mom, have you eaten yet?”
Coleen answered, “Yes.”
“What about dad?”
Coleen replied, “He took your grandparents to the park. He’ll be here soon.”
Coleen picked up the water cup on the table and went out to fetch water for her son. In a short while,
Kendrick arrived. Seeing his children eating, he asked, “How is it?”
Molly had a bite of the potatoes. “This is definitely made by you.”
Kendrick couldn’t help butugh. “You could tell?”
“No, it’s just that ,you love to put chili when you cook.”
“But I happen to love potatoes with chili.” Molly took another bite.
Kendrickughed again. After his wife returned, he boasted about his little girl recognizing the dish he
prepared.
During dinner, Donnie’s call came in. Chad set down his fork and knife and moved off to the side to
take the call. “Yeah, go ahead.”
Donnie said, “Boss, the lead on your case has gone void.” In other words, it had be an unsolved
mystery.
Chad knew that the culprit was cunning and would not be easy to catch. He wore a mask, and gloves,
leaving no trace behind.
“Send me a backup copy of the video when the incident happened,” Chad requested.
