Chapter 217

    Chapter 217

Jade heard that Leo was always bullied at home, so she asked, "Isn''t he the only heir of the Cedillo

family, the grandson of the Cedillos?"

"Yeah, before I became part of the family, Leo was kind of a big deal at home. But since I joined the

n, I don''t know if I messed things up for him, but his status has been dropping like a rock, even

getting his butt kicked by Hansen pretty often." Mia said.

Jade analysed, "Before you joined the family, Andre was still a bachelor, and the Cedillos needed Leo

to carry on the family name, so they took care of him. Once you joined the family and popped out a kid

for the Cedillos in a few years, Leo won''t be the only heir anymore, so they won''t have to baby him."

Mia pondered, "You make a lot of sense. No wonder you''re part of the family, you really get the inside

    scoop."

"Does that mean Leo should hurry up and get hitched, pop out a great-grandkid for the Cedillos, so he

can secure his status?" Mia suddenly proposed.

Jade shook her head, "That''d be like signing his own death sentence. They''ve got a great-grandkid

already, what do they need a grandson for?"

Mia was speechless. At this moment, she couldn''t help but worry about Leo.

The next day, a strange scene yed out in the family living room. At the dining table, only Mia, Jade,

and Leo were eating normally. Hansen, Bruce, Naomi, even the housemaids, they were all staring at

    Jade.

Hansen had spent the whole night restless, checking every minute to see if his daughter''s shoes were

still at the door. Only then would he feel relieved. He was always worrying that he''d wake up and his

    daughter would be gone.

Naomi and Bruce stared at Jade, reminiscing about her when she was a kid.

Andre was only staring at his wife. "It''s the 14th today." He reminded Mia, who was enjoying her meal.

Mia, halfway through her food, turned her head in confusion, "What''s up?"

Andre didn''t want to exin at the table, just moved the crab from her hand and gave her some warm

    vegetables to eat.

"Honey, are you torturing me?" She couldn''t even eat properly?

Andre gently patted his wife''s belly under the table, "Get it?"

Mia finally got it, her period wasing in a few days. "There''s still four days to go." Sheined.

Andre said, "You''ll be in pain at night, and you''ll have to swear again."

Mia pouted, watching the crab she''d been looking forward to eating slip away.

The Cedillo family''s usual breakfast was pretty ordinary, changing every week. But today was extra

hearty, the table was full of dishes. That was because Hansen was too excited. He had asked the

kitchen to prepare all kinds of big dishes early in the morning, knowing they wouldn''t finish it all, but he

still wanted them to. All to wee his daughter home.

Mia was able to enjoy a big crab early in the morning. She also was a bit grumpy because her diet was

restricted. So, only Leo was eating happily.

After breakfast, it was time to go to school. Andre drove the three of them personally. Hansen wanted

to go too, so he could spend more time with his daughter.

"The car is full." Mia said.

Hansen pointed at his grandson, telling him to drive himself, "Leo can drive himself. Make room for

    me."

Jade looked at her nephew who was used to being bullied. It didn''t take her a day, just an hour, to feel

    Leo''s status at home.

Leo patted the middle seat, "How can it be full? Just squeeze a bit."

So Hansen squeezed into the car. Mia originally wanted to leave the copilot seat for him, but Hansen

didn''t want to sit next to Andre. He wanted to chat with his daughter.

"Molly, we''ve actually met before. Remember thest time Mia got into a fight at school? She was

fierce, not like a girl at all. I saw you then, you scratched a girl''s face and kicked another girl''s belly.

    You''re really strong." Hansen said.

Hansen could remember a ton of bad things, but hardly any good ones.

Jade said, "Dad, I''m usually quitedylike, that was an exception."

Hansen hade to terms with the reality. If his daughter-inw could be friends with her, she

probably wasn''t much different. Besides, this was his own daughter.

"What I mean is, you guys fought well." Hansen said.

    Jade was speechless.

During a red light stop, Mia said, "Are you going to the Marshal familyter?"

"Mind your own business. Go to school and study." Andre said.

Mia said, "Honey, I actually want to go and fight for you. If the Marshals don''t cooperate, let me handle

it. My fists can make them cooperate."

"Do you want to help me fight, or do you want to deal with your love rivals?" Andre asked.

Mia batted her big eyes, "Either way, they don''t conflict, right?"

Andre didn''t let her go. What would be said today probably wasn''t suitable for Mia. "Do you how many

times you''ve skipped ss this semester? It''d be embarrassing if they cancelled your final exam."

    Andre said.

Mia whined and begged, Andre was torn, but he still wouldn''t let Mia go. When they arrived at school,

Mia pouted, reluctantly got off the car with her books.

Leo got off the car at the gate, followed by Jade in the middle seat. As soon as she got off the car, she

looked up and saw her waiting brother.

"Chad." Jade shouted. She ran towards him. Chad was supposed to go to the police station this

morning, but somehow ended up here on the way. After parking the car, he turned his head and

realised that his sister he was supposed to drive every day was not there.

He smiled bitterly, habits were truly scary.

He went to the ssroom to see if he could find his sister, but she hadn''t arrived yet. Just as he was

about to leave, he heard the sound of a car turning off and turned to see his sister calling him.

Hansen and Andre watched the running figure; both father and son fell into silence. No doubt about it,

Jade was all thumbs around the Cedillo family. But with the Byrne family, she was over the moon.

She dashed over to Chad, all bent out of shape, "Chad, why didn''t you reply to my message?"

"I was busy at the time. Why are you still up at 4 in the morning?" Chad asked. The Byrne family was in

about their granddaughter, creating a scene with their crying and yelling. He had no time to check his

    phone.

Chad realized he had missed her message. It was sent at 4 AM. He wanted to reply but didn''t know

    what to say.

Jade said, "I can''t sleep. I miss you."

Chad gently touched his sister''s cheek, his tone incredibly soft, "Off to school with you, I have to go to

    work."

Jade clung tightly to him, not wanting him to leave, "Chad, how are mom and dad?"

"They''re doing well, don''t worry. The day you decide to change your name back to Molly, we''ll have

dinner together at home." Chad said.

At his words, Jade couldn''t hold back her tears. She suddenly didn''t want to change her name

    anymore.

Chad watched as Jade''s tears fell. He cradled her face in his hands, wiping away her tears, "We''re just

having a normal dinner, not saying goodbye. Why are you crying again? Your eyes will puff up if you cry

    anymore."

Chad lightly patted her shoulder with a smile, "Off to school with you."
