Chapter 378
“Noelle?”
Yevgen noticed that Noelle seemed both indifferent and slightly impatient, which made him even
more nervous. He wanted to take a step forward, but the coldness in Noelle’s eyes froze him in
ce.

He stood there stiffly, waiting for her response.
Noelle nced at Yevgen with a detached expression, then looked over at Sean, who was watching
the situation unfold with amusement.
She frowned slightly, not particrly pleased with the situation. After all, being confessed to under
such circumstances was far from enjoyable.
The surroundings were quiet. The autumn breeze was cool with a hint of chill, much like Noelle’s
current demeanor–difficult to read.
She looked at Yevgen for a moment before saying, “Yevgen, I haven’t had the chance to thank you
for saving mest time. Since we’ve run into each other today, I want to express my gratitude for
what you did that day.”
Noelle’s tone was calm, without much emotion. “Is there anything else?”
Yevgen was taken aback, not expecting Noelle to say that. “Noelle, saving you was just a small
gesture, especially since you’re the woman I like! Have you thought about it? I like you. Will you be
my girlfriend?”
Yevgen nced at Sean, who was still leaning against the car door. Yevgen found the man
handsome butcking in manners. He was talking to Noelle, yet Sean did not seem to know when
to give them privacy.
Sean, on the other hand, wore an amused expression. He was someone who often took things
lightly and was unconstrained by formalities. Besides, Sean loved a bit of gossip, especially when it
involved Noelle and his friend, Charles. There was no way he was going to leave Noelle alone in
this situation.
However, Sean could not help but notice that Yevgen seemed oblivious to the clear signals Noelle
was giving. Despite her obvious difort, Yevgen remained fixated on getting an answer.
Noelle took a deep breath and pinched the bridge of her nose. “Okay, I understand. Anything
else?”
“Noelle! You haven’t answered me yet!” Yevgen’s frustration grew as he saw Noelle’s indifferent
attitude. He raised his voice, saying, “I’ve confessed my feelings, and you still haven’t given me an
answer!”
Noelle’s patience wore thin. She lifted her head, her gaze icy. “Yevgen, what kind of answer are you
looking for? You’ve told me at least three times that you like me, and I’ve responded each time.
What more do you want?”
“What?” Yevgen was stunned, taken aback by the coldness in Noelle’s eyes. “You… You haven’t
answered me yet!”
“I did answer,” Noelle replied, her tone sharp. “I thanked you for saving me, and I acknowledged
what you said. But you keep pushing. Isn’t my attitude clear enough? You saved me, and I’m
grateful, but that doesn’t mean I have to like you.
“Yevgen, we were ssmates. I don’t want to ruin the rtionship we have.”

Yevgen opened his mouth but could not find the words. “But you never said you don’t like me!”
Noelle smirked slightly. “Just because I didn’t say I don’t like you doesn’t mean I do like you. I was
trying to be polite, but apparently, that was a mistake. You insist on getting an answer. Do you want
the answer I give you or the one you want to hear?
“Are you going to keep pressing until you get the response you want?” Noelle’s voice was now
laced with impatience, each word a sharp rebuke.
She had always been gentle, but now, she was clearly irritated. “If you insist on an answer, then
here it is. I don’t like you. Not even a little. Is that the answer you wanted?”
