    “What are youughing at?” Charles noticed the mncholic expression on Noelle’s face. With one


    hand on the steering wheel, he gently squeezed her hand with the other. “Not interested in watching


    the movie?


    Noelle shook her head. “No, I just suddenly remembered some things from the past and realized


    how foolish I was before.”


    Charles raised an eyebrow, immediately sensing Noelle’s emotions. He patted the back of her hand.


    ” There’s no need to dwell on the past. Your present is much better.”


    Noelle looked up, smiling softly. “Don’t worry about me. I was just having a moment of reflection.”


    She was very aware of her situation and feelings.


    She was much better nowpared to before. “Are you really not going to tell me what you talked


    about with Grandpa?”


    Charles chuckled at Noelle’s persistence. “There wasn’t much to it. I just told your grandpa that you


    were someone I pursued relentlessly, and I promised him that I would never let you down.” He


    squeezed her hand, adding, “If I ever wrong you, everything I have will be yours.”


    Noelle’s heart skipped a beat. Seeing Charles teasingly say these words, she felt a pang of


    difort. She looked down at his slender hand holding hers, feeling his grip tighten slightly.


    Charles‘ gentle voice reassured her, “That day will nevere.”


    After seeing off Charles and Noelle, Sebastian held a newspaper but couldn’t focus on reading a

    May came out of the kitchen with a bowl of soup. “Sir, this is the stew Ms. Noelle made for you. She
