Chapter 340
Chapter 340 I Thought You Had Something To Say
Adrian chuckled. “You don’t have a cell phone card right now, yet he actually called my number
directly.”
He looked up. “Should I answer it?”
With Adrian holding the phone, Lysander couldn’t type.

Thus, she spread her hands, gesturing as if to say that it was his decision.
With a yful raise of his eyebrow, Adrian simply flipped his phone upside down on the table. “Let’s
eat first.”
The phone continued to ring incessantly, but he had neither the intention to answer it nor to hang
up.
Finally, the phone hung up by default.
Adrian asked, “Do you feel a bit more at ease now?”
Lysander lifted her head to look at him.
He, a grown man, had finished off half a portion of pasta in just a few bites. Sitting upright, he
nudged his chin at the cell phone face-down on the table. “Now that you’ve seen howmitted
Josiah is to you, even going as far as contacting you through me, his romantic rival, do you feel
appeased?”
Lysander understood his meaning and shook her head.
“You still haven’t vented your anger?”
Lysander shook her head again.
Between her and Josiah, they were not love-struck sweethearts, so there was no need to get upset
ove who loved whom.
From the very beginning, she had a clear understanding of her own heart.
She didn’t love Josiah. It was just that she had grown ustomed to living with him over the course
of those three years. However, the sudden appearance of Lysanne disrupted her life in a most
unsettling way, ruining her once stable ns for life. This was the real reason she had wanted to
avoid them.
She pointed at the cellphone.
Understanding her intent, Adrian handed it to her.
She found the unfamiliar series of digits right from the missed calls list, then promptly blocked it.
Then, she returned his phone to him.
Adrian epted it with a smile. “I thought you had something you wanted to tell me.”

Typing was also quite exhausting, and it was significantly slower than speaking.
She couldn’t be bothered to exin so much, and she certainly di In’t want to bare her soul to
others.
However, when she returned his phone, his palm brushed against the back of her hand. Lysander
felt a burning sensation from it.
The living room was dimly lit, and Lysander hadn’t noticed how rmingly pale Adrian’s face was.
She slightly furrowed her brows, extending her hand to touch his forehead and quickly realizing it
was scorchingly hot.
Adrian seemed somewhat dazed, feeling something on his forehead. Instinctively, he reached up to
grasp it, asking, “What is it?”
Once he recognized it was her hand, he gently let go, asking. “What are you doing?”
Lysander made a gesture, but Adrian didn’t quite understand.
She picked up her phone, typing out a message: You’re sick. You’re burning up.
Adrianposed himself, and after clearly reading the words, he touched his own forehead. “Do I
have a fever?”
Lysander nodded.
He must have spent too much time in the rain today.
Adrian gave a self-deprecating chuckle. “I pulled an all-nighter at work yesterday, then rushed to
catch a flight here as soon as I got off. I’m a bit worn out and got caught in some rain. It’s nothing
serious though. You should get some rest. I’m heading back to rest as well.”
Lysander was somewhat worried.
Adrian pushed himself up from the table, grabbed his small suitcase, and headed toward the door.
However, it was unclear whether it was due to the soles of his shoes being too wet and slippery or if
he simply lost his footing, but he almost fell down.
Luckily, he was tall with long legs. He managed to steady himself by bracing his hand against the
wall.
His arm brushed against a wall hanging, causing a gash of several centimeters on his forearm.
Immediately, fresh blood began to seep out.
Adrian gritted his teeth, his brows furrowed. “The ground is too slippery…”
Lysander quickly stepped forward to support him, gesturing toward the living room couch for him to
sit down.
