Chapter 164
Chapter 164 Half Son
Lysander really couldn’t resist her sister’s persistent persuasion. In the end, she merely agreed to
y it by
ear.
In Michelle’s view, as long as Lysander agreed, there was nothing she couldn’t aplish!
Thus, throughout the journey, Michelle was incredibly joyful. Her words were particrly captivating.
making her father burst into heartyughter, while her mother yfully scolded her for being such a
witty spritc.

Lysander was always a woman of few words. She sat quietly in the passenger seat, gazing out the
window at the passing scenery while listening to her sister’s yful banter.
Suddenly, Zachary asked a question, “Are you cold?”
She turned around. “What?”
“If you’re feeling cold, I can close the window a bit.”
Lysander shook her head. “I’m not cold.”
“If you’re feeling cold, just let me know.”
“All right, thank you.”
“My car is just a standard domestic model, not asfortable as those luxury cars. Are you still
okay with it?”
So this is what he wanted to ask. Lysander chuckled. “To be honest, I don’t know much about cars.
To me, luxury cars and ordinary ones are just marked differently. I don’t feel much about them.”
Zachary clearly breathed a sigh of relief. “I see.

“Right, and I think domestic cars have been doing quite well these past few years, especially the
new energy ones. I heard they’re selling really well abroad.”
“Indeed, that’s true. Our local brands have been steadily improving.”
The backseat chatter was incessant, and finally, Zachary found a topic to chat with her about. He
spoke about the thriving new energy automobile industry in his own country, how it had outpaced
the Japrium car and Keprarian car markets, and how its future prospects looked incredibly
promising.
Lysander wasn’t lying. She genuinely didn’t know much about cars, and she truly was educated on
the subject.
Zachary said, “A couple of days ago, I kept noticing a white Cayenne parked under your building. I
hope that one day, our country will have its own luxury car brand so that the wealthy won’t have to
contribute foreign exchange to foreign countries anymore.”
“I think that day wille.”
“Lysander, have you ever driven a luxury car?”
After some thought, Lysander recalled thest time she had driven Josiah’s car, when she had
taken Prisci to the hospital. “I did.”
“Was it your ex–husband’s?”

“Yes,”
“What brand of car is it?”
“Cayenne.”
Zachary chuckled. “What a coincidence. Perhaps this model is a bit more spacious than the others
in the Porsche range. It seems to align well with our national aesthetic preferences.”
Presumably, those who work in technical fields tend to be more straightforward and not riddled with
complicated thoughts. After hearing her out, Zachary didn’t dwell on it much. He cheerfully
continued exining to her the differences between an engine and a transmission.
Although Lysander’s residence was technically in Harborbrook, due to the city’s overwhelming
grandeur, her journey home often involved either a long–distance bus ride or a high–speed train.
After driving for more than an hour, Zachary finally arrived at the entrance of the Hestryan cuisine
restaurant.
Cam was dressed in a date–red gown, her hair meticulously coiled up, appearing in high spirits.
She greeted them warmly, “Ah, I’ve been waiting for you.”
Laura held her hand with a radiant smile. “We owe it to Zach for picking us up. Otherwise, we’d
probably still be on our way.
Cam waved her hand nonchntly. “Well, as it goes, sons should be made to do some work!”
“You’re truly blessed to have a wonderful son like Zach. He has a respectable job and is extremely
dutiful.”
“This rascal, he’s not getting any younger, and he still hasn’t brought a girlfriend home for me to
meet. What’s all this filial piety about? I’m envious of you. Both your daughters are so smart and
vibrant, it would hav been nice if we could swap.”
Laura could hardly suppress herughter. “What’s there to exchange? After all these years, Zach is
like a son to me, and you should consider my two daughters as if they were your own!”
Cam’s eyes lit up upon hearing this. “Remember, you said it yourself, no going back on your
word. Oh dear, you should hurry up and take Zachary back as your half–son. It’s so frustrating to
see him single day in and day out.”
The implications in Cam’s words were subtly hinted.
Michelle, the innocent one, was engrossed in a fervent chat with her boyfriend on her mobile phone.
She didn’t hear a thing.
Initially, Laura was taken aback. Then, she exchanged a nce with Lysander.
Generally speaking, a son–inw was often referred to as a “half–son“.
Thus, they wondered if Cam was suggesting Zachary marrying with a daughter of the Thorne
family.
