    Eleanor shot him a nce, speaking calmly, “Bernard, if I have a baby, will you let me go?”


    The man stiffened. He kept his head low, not daring to meet her eyes.


    Eleanor continued, “I can have a baby, but after that I hope you can set me free”

    He lifted his head slowly, staring at the woman lying in the hospital bed. The sight of her pale, bloodless

    “Eleanor, you don’t have to have a baby… I’ll let you go.”

    Bemard gave a bitter smile. “Once you’re fully recovered, I’ll drive you to the airport”
