That afternoon, Harry called Elliot to inform him that Ivy''s script was ready, and Elliot immediately sent the driver to the television station to pick the script up.

Avery pulled La aside and said, "Preparation for the wedding is almost done. When do you want to have the wedding?"
"Just any day after New Year''s, I guess!" La said.
"You need to pick a date! Once you select the date, you will need to send out the invites to your family and friends." Avery pulled up the calendar on her phone and showed it to La. "Your dad and I don''t have any date in mind. Maybe you should ask Eric''s parents."
"They are probably okay with anything we decide as well!" La grabbed the phone and randomly picked a date on the calendar. "First of March, then! We can''t have it on Valentine''s as I had not expected the preparations to be done this quickly. I haven''t even sent out the invitations!"
"That should work. I will tell Elliot about it now."
"Let''s go tell him together!" La took Avery''s hand and asked, "Mom, are you going to cry at my wedding?"
"Do you want me to?" Avery asked. She did not know the answer to that question either.
Whenever she was surrounded by her family and friends, she felt nothing but joy.
"Listen to yourself. It''s not like you can just cry on cue if I want you to." La chuckled. "If you are that good at crying, you would be an actress by now."
"Your wedding is a joyous day for us all. I''m happy as long as you and Eric are happy. I mean it."
"I want you to be happy as well, Mom. I know that you and Dad are a little upset that I moved out all of a sudden, but the two of you will worry if I stay home and remain single for the rest of my life."
"Of course! You and Eric should head home after dinner! It''s going to get really noisy here tonight, so you won''t be able to get any sleep here," Avery said.
"I already discussed it with him. He is going home to rest, and I will stay here. This is our first New Year''s celebration with Ivy, so I must be here. We need to take a family photo after the countdown, and then I''m going to drop Ivy off to work." La had everything nned.
"Sure." Avery could sense that La had grown more mature ever since she got married.
Night fell and Avery turned on the television, flipping the channels till she got one that was airing New Year''s programs. The children were setting off fireworks in the garden.
Ivy saw the firework from her window and could not help but set her script aside and join the others.
"Ivy, are you done with memorizing your script?" La asked.
"Almost." y could hardly focus as there were too many people ying outside room. She kept getting
distracted by the urge to join the others.
"Don''t worry. There''s the teleprompter, right? Just take a break." La patted her on the head.
"Okay. The fireworks look so beautiful!" Ivy felt at peace as she looked at the splendid colors blooming across the sky.
"The fireworks we prepared for
midnight look even better," Lane
said. "We are going to start
hour earlier so that you can

work after the fireworks show."
"La, I feel so blessed!"
"Me, too," La said. "Let''se home to spend New Year''s with Mom and Dad every year from now on, okay?"
"Of course!" Ivy agreed without hesitation.
Inside the house, Lilith nced at the clock and called Tammy and Avery over to start the poker game.
"Shea, did you manage to convince Wesley?" Lilith asked.
Shea shook her head. "He said no."
"Haha, I knew it! He will y with us, then!" Lilith said before calling out to Wesley.
"Shea, you can take the kids to the third floorter and grab some rest there. It''s quieter there," Avery said.
"Okay," Shea said gloomily. She had wanted to stay up and y with the others, but Wesley insisted that she go to sleep.
"Don''t be upset with Wesley. You are
in no shape to stay up all night. I won''t let your brother stay up as well." Avery took Shea''s hands. "You can watch us y and go to sleep after midnight."
