"Ivy, have you rested enough? How are you feeling? Do you feel tired? I had the maid make you some soup." Avery spotted Ivy and hurried over to grab her hand.
Ivy did not want Avery to worry and smiled. "I had enough rest. I''m starving."
"You don''t look too energetic. Get some more sleep after having some food. You have to work again tonight, and it''s hardly a reasonable shift. Even doctors and nurses don''t work night shifts on consecutive nights," Avery said.
"Mom, I''m fine. One more day at work, and I get two days off!" Ivy walked over to the dining room. "What soup is it? It smells so good."
"It''s chicken soup, so it will warm you up. Have some food before drinking your soup." Avery sat down next to Ivy.
"Have you eaten, Mom? Where is Dad?" The mansion was quiet even though it was twelve in the afternoon, and it was around the time when her parents would normally have lunch.
"Your dad went to the office, and we ate at ten, so I''m not hungry right now." Avery woke up at nine that morning, so she decided to have brunch instead.
"Mom, is your biological clock disrupted? You can''t stay up all night with me again, or I will feel really guilty."
"We won''t. We just wanted you to know that you are not alone. Besides, we were curious as to what you would look like once you are an official broadcaster. I was satisfied to have watched your showst nigh because I learned that there''s nothing for me to worry about." Avery studied Ivy endearingly. "You were glowing while you worked, darling."
Ivy blushed. "Mom, thank you for always encouraging me, but I know that you and Dad were far more capable when you were my age. You two are my idols."
"You can look up to us, but I don''t want you to pressure yourself. Sess isn''t what we ask of you. Health and happiness are far more important than that," Avery said and paused. "Eat up."
Ivy finished her food obediently, and Avery immediately served her a bowl of soup.
She finished the soup as well and Avery showed Ivy the screen of her phone. "Darling, your name is all over social media."N?vel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive ? material.
Ivy was stunned by her words.
"The official website of the TV station you worked at announced the poprity poll with the photos and link to recordings of all the shows. Everyone fell in love with you for your looks and capability as a broadcaster." Avery was pleased that people loved her daughter but was also worried about the impact fame would have on Ivy at the same time.
Once someone became famous, everything they did would be ced under a microscope, and people would try their best to look into their background, so Ivy might not be able to hide her true identity for long.
Ivy took Avery''s phone and scrolled through thements.
[Ivy is so pretty and young! Her looks and demeanor rival that of actresses!]
[I was lured in by her looks as well! She has such clear eyes and a unique demeanor! Most importantly, she is a talented broadcaster! You should all check out her show!]
[Ivy smiled when she was gathering her script after the show. That smile! That smile struck my heart like a lightning!]
[The poll is finally open for votes! Ivy has my vote!]
Otherments were supporting other broadcasters, but most of thements leaned toward Ivy.
"What do you think, Ivy?" Avert asked. "If you don''t like the attention, I can call the TV station to cancel the poll."
"It''s fine, Mom This isn''t the
entertainment business and doesn''t get as much exposure. It will pass soon." Ivy handed Avery back her phone + just didn''t expect everyone to take a liking to me. I don''t think I''m that good-looking!" She touched her face curiously.
"You don''t think you are good-looking? Your sister told me in private that you are more beautiful than her!" In Avery''s eyes, both La and Ivy were the prettiest young women in the world.
