Chapter 1908

    Chapter 1908

On the way to Golden Roof Restaurant, I pondered if Cyril was the the person who set this appointment up - the man whom I met at the French restaurant that day.

After all, I had lost a lot of weight, and I should look much differentpared to before. People shouldn''t be able to recognize me at a nce.

It was only until I emerged from the car that I discovered that everything had long since been arranged.

At the entrance of the restaurant, there was a personal waiter waiting for me, who then directly led me into room 608.

Itprised two smaller rooms, one of which had a deluxe sofa that allowed the customers to have a leisurely chit-chat between meals. Another room was a living room with a grand dining table. While I wasing in, I secretly inquired about this room and the waiter told me that room 608 was the VIP room of Golden Roof Restaurant, and only the most distinguished and honored guests could reserve it.

It seemed that the person who wanted to meet me was wealthy.

I stepped in and walked around the room with the sofa. Soon, the sound of the door opening could be heard.

I heard the sounds of high-heels, a small trolley and some unsteady footsteps.

What followed was a child''s voice. "I have my own ns. It''s none of your business."

"Wynn, it''s about time to eat. Put down your gadget. Didn''t I tell you that we have to concentrate on everything we''re doing, and that we can''t afford to

be negligent." The woman sounded like a businesswoman, but it could be heard that she was trying to be patient with the child.

"That rule is just for you," the child muttered, unwilling to obey. "I can, I want it to be... interesting."

Perhaps he was too young to fully articte his feelings.

"Wynn Marshall, put that gadget away." The woman began to assume a sterner voice.

The child did not respond, as if he took no notice of her words.

"I told you to put it away!" The woman ordered loudly.

"Humph! You are not my mother. What makes you think that you can discipline me? Tell me!"

The two started arguing. I could imagine the scene of an unruly child trying to make things difficult for his guardian. I couldn''t resistughing when I felt how distressed the woman must be feeling.

This was hardly the right time for outsiders to be present. Since they couldn''t see me from their position, surreptitiously moved a few steps away to make sure that I was blocked by the partition between the two rooms.

At this time, a heavy footstep could be heard, and the child yelled boisterously, "Mr. Facism!"

"Hendrix, you''re here," the woman called out the man''s name. It turned out to be Hendrix Roberts, the richest man in Zuckerburg.

Hendrix ignored her. His tone was apathetic and somber. "Call me ''Daddy''."N?velDrama.Org owns all ? content.

Even though we were separated by a wall, I could still feel Hendrix''s upromising demeanor. Afterward, I heard the child''s obedient voice. "Daddy."

However, in the next second, he yfully called out, "Mr. Facism!"

He then made a run for it with his little feet, as though he was afraid of exasperating his father. What a naughty child.

Hendrix didn''t really get angry with the child. He just let him go in silence.

A momentter, the woman''s gentle voice could be heard. "Hendrix, we haven''t had a meal together in two months. Let me keep you and Wynnpany for a while today."

Hendrix didn''t grace her with an

    amiable attitude. A note of

insouciance coupled with alienation made up his voice. "There are

certain things that require talents to be aplished. For instance,

educating a kid. If you ow

"What do you mean?" The woman sounded startled, as if she didn''t expect to receive a cold shoulder from him.

"The fact that you can''t understand

shouldn''let Wynn be in contact with you." Hendrix''s voice was as cold as ice, and the partition did nothing to stop me from feeling the awkward atmosphere.
