Chapter 1509
We went to a cafe for breakfast.
"Why were we there this morning? What did you take me there for?" Shirley asked once she had
gotten over her hangover.
"I didn''t know where to bring you, so I took you there for the night."
The corners of her mouth twitched. "So? Did you leave your bank card there as payment?"
I nodded.
She was astonished and wanted to ask more, but I cut her off. "What are you going to doter?"
She kept quiet. After a moment of silence, she said, "I don''t know what to do."
"Do you have a bank card with you?" I asked her.
She nodded, "Yeah!"
"Perfect. Let''s go to the beauty salon, and then the shopping mall next."
She was astounded but nodded in response. She stared at me and added, "My child is still at
home."
"Is there a nanny?"
Owned by N?velDrama.Org.
She nodded and said, "Yes, I have stopped breastfeeding. I informed the nanny when I left home
yesterday."
I hummed in agreement. "That''s good."
After breakfast, I went straight to the salon with Shirley. The salons in Jarold City were either too
ordinary or so high-end that regr folk could not afford it. I contacted Freya. When she knew that I
wanted to visit a salon out of the blue, she was startled. "Why do you want to visit the salon all of a
sudden? Are you in shock?"
I smacked my head in exasperation. Her imagination was beyond limits, "No, I wanted to bring a
friend to get her hair done. Do you have time? Let''s go shopping together!"
"Yes, of course. Where is it? Give me the address!" She eximed excitedly, "Oliver is so difficult to
deal with these days. I feel that I can''t keep up with the trend anymore. It''s really not easy to be a
mother. I feel like I''m no longer a woman. I''m in desperate need for some retail therapy."
I was baffled by her enthusiasm. "I''ll give you the addresster. Find Oliver a babysitter or send him
to my mom''s ce and ask her to help."
She clicked her tongue and said, "Arianna, you''re probably the most rxed person I know. Your
parents take care of your child and your husband is in charge of thepany. You can spend all
your time doing stuff that you enjoy. You''re so rxed!"
I grinned and answered, "Why don''t we swap? I can exchange my life with yours. Are you willing to
do so?"
"That won''t do. My husband is the best in the world. I won''t exchange him for anything else," She
retorted yfully.
I chuckled. "Okay, stop joking around. Hurry up. My friend and I will be waiting for you here."
After hanging up, Shirley and I drank coffee while we waited for Freya at a cafe.
Seeing that Shirley was a little absent-minded, I could not help probing. "What''s wrong? What are
you thinking about?"
"I''m a little worried about my child. I didn''t return home for the entirety ofst night, but I did not get
any calls on my phone. Irvin did not call me at all. Do you think it''s because he doesn''t care what I
do at all?"
She looked at her mobile phone wistfully. I sighed and suggested, "You should call the nanny and
ask her for updates about your child. As for Irvin, don''t worry about him. It''s not important whether
he cares about you or not. You have lost yourself for so many years. You should do something for
yourself and make yourself better. Don''t think about anything else."
It was too meaningless to pursue romantic love blindly. There were so many more possibilities in
life. Why did she choose the path that caused her the most misery?
