    I knew I should never resort to buying organs from the ck market. However, my child was in a

    "Which department are you all from?"

    I nodded and remained quiet. They fell silent too.


    Not long after that, they asked, "Mrs. Roberts, are you on your way to meet Mr. Roberts?"


    I nodded. "Yes, I''m taking up some food for him," I shed a smile.


    They nodded and smiled in return. "Mr. Roberts is indeed a blessed man,” one of the employees


    said. "Come to think of it, the secretary, Miss Zanes, would prepare some snacks for him most of


    the time..."


    One of the colleagues nudged her. So, the girl who was speaking cracked an awkward smile and


    remained quiet thereafter.


    I kept a smile on my face, not showing any other reaction. I merely replied, "That''s very kind of her."


    The few of them merely smiled, and remained silent.


    I walked out of the elevator as soon as it opened. Immediately, my smile faded. At times, it was not


    easy keeping up a pretense.


    I could hear high-heels walking on the corridor. I raised my head. It was Rowane, holding a


    document. As she saw me, she directed her gaze at the food on my hands. "You’re sending food to


    Mr. Roberts, aren''t you?" she said.


    I nodded. There was nothing inmon between us, so I did not have anything to chat with her.


    She looked at me, and after a brief pause, she said, "You must have been busytely."


    "Yes," I replied. It seemed that she had something to tell me.


    Sure enough, she spoke after a brief pause. "No matter how busy you are, be sure to spend time


    with your family. You have to be cautious at certain things, you know."


    I looked at her. I was not as angry as I thought I would be. "If there''s anything you want to tell me,


    please be frank...You don''t have to beat around the bush."


    She shrugged and said nonchntly, "Well, it''s not that I''m beating around the bush. It''s just, I''m


    unsure how true it is. It''s merely hearsay, and I may be just overthinking..."


    She held the document and said, "Anyway, I''ve got to go attend to something. Talk to you soon."


    I pursed my lips as she walked away. Being an adult meant a busy life, and always something to


    worry about...


    I made my way to Hendrix''s office. Fortunately, the door was open. As I carried the food, I stood by


    the door and hesitated for a moment before walking in.


    As soon as I raised my hand, I heard somebody talking. "Mr. Roberts, after you''re done with the


    documents, I''ll send them over." It was Este there.


    "Ok," Hendrix replied indifferently.


    It seemed that he was still upied with work. I did not hurry to enter his room. Instead, I went to


    the office lounge and yed some games on my phone while I waited.
