Chapter 1205
I contemted what he said, slightly stunned. Then I looked at Evan and asked, "Evan, is the
financialpensation for idental death and suicide the same?"
Evan shook his head and replied, "It''s different. If it''s an ident, thepany has to pay arge
amount inpensation. Even the entirepany’s security system needs to undergo scrutiny and
upgrade. If it''s a suicide, then thepany only has to pay a small amount of money as a
compassionatepensation."
I nodded. I roughly understood the reason why the elderly couple was creating a ruckus here. What
apany always feared were idents. The couple was creating a huge ruckus now because
they were hoping that before Sonia''s death was ruled an ident or a suicide, Hendrix would
compensate them in order to make them leave and not affect thepany.
However, Hendrix didn''t show up at all even after they had been kicking up a fuss for so long. It
seemed that Hendrix was going to wait for the police report toe out before he dealt with it.
I cast a nce at the middle-aged couple, whose faces were streaked with tears, their voices were
hoarse from all the crying. They looked old and frail after staying up the whole night.
Seeing the pale face of the child beside them, I looked at Evan and said, "Evan, could you please
ask someone to buy breakfast and snacks for themter?"
Property ? N?velDrama.Org.
Evan frowned and asked, "They are here to make trouble. Why are you buying food for them?"
Looking at the child, I said lightly, "I find them pitiful. Sorry to trouble you."
Although he did not understand, he still nodded and said, "Okay, I will."
Hendrix was still looking through the documents when I walked into his office. I couldn''t help but put
the breakfast I''d packed in front of him and took away the pen and documents in his hand. Then, I
pretended to be angry and said, "I know you''re a workaholic, but you''ve been working all night. You
can''t go on like this. Eat your breakfast first, and then sleep for a while."
A faint smile broke out on his tired face when he saw me. He stretched out his hand and pulled me
to sit on hisp. Then, he took a deep breath and said, "Why did youe so early? You didn''t
sleep muchst night?"
Looking at the stubble on his chin, I felt a little distressed and said, "You still dare turn this on me.
Look at yourself now. Well, stop talking. Eat your breakfast and go to sleep!"
While speaking, I got up, then opened the breakfast I brought with me and made him eat.
He ate it quietly and asked me to sleep with him. Although I didn''t want to sleep, he looked at me
seriously and said, "I can''t sleep without you by my side."
Helplessly, I had no choice but to lie beside him, leaning against his chest, and closed my eyes.
Soon, I heard his even breath. He must have been really tired, since he didn''t sleep a winkst
night.
A voice came from the office, and it sounded like Evan. Hendrix was still sleeping soundly, so I got
out of bed quietly and went out of the lounge. Evan was walking back and forth frantically. It seemed
that there was some trouble.
When he saw me walking out of the lounge, he asked, "Mrs. Roberts, is Mr. Roberts taking a rest?"
I nodded, "What happened?"
He hesitated for a moment before saying, "Sonia''s family is making even more of a fuss down there.
They have gotten more people to join them, and they''re crying and creating a huge ruckus
downstairs. The hall has be a little chaotic, and it is affecting our work."
