Chapter 1015
I smiled faintly and looked up at him. I had been squatting for too long, and my legs were a little
numb and my shoulders a little sore. I smiled and said, "This is my job. Didn''t I tell you that there is
no distinction between men and women in the workce?"
Everyoneughed. Hendrix was bringing Zir around the base to view the construction work this
afternoon. It seemed that he intended to let the Attwood family in on the profits for this project.
Rowane followed them, and from time to time, she would exin the engineering process of things
as well. From the looks of it, the both of them did look good together!
Seeing that several people wereing towards my direction, I lowered my head and concentrated
on my own work.
I had thought that they would leave after the tour, but Rowane suddenly said, "Master Attwood, you
must be tired after such a long journey. There is a ce to rest here. Let''s go rest, and I''ll cut you
some pears!"
The old man seemed to be particrly fond of the fruit, especially freshly picked ones.
At hearing Rowane''s words, the old man was happy to stay.
So Rowane helped Zir to the lounge, and Hendrix turned his gaze to me.
I didn''t expect his request, "Miss Reid, please help us pick some fruits from behind the base."
I answered in protest, "I''m not very familiar with the road here!"
He raised his eyebrows and said carelessly, "Mr. Milton said that you need to cooperate as much as
possible with our work."
Whatever work he was referring to was irrelevant to what Mr Milton had assigned me to work on.
But, if I didn''t do it, it would imply that I wasn''t cooperating with him.
Seething inside, I nodded and put down the tools in my hands. Then I said, "Okay, please wait for a
moment!"

I found some stic bags at the base and went out. Most of thend in Lancille Vige were filled
with orchards, so it was not difficult to pick some fruits.
But because ofst night''s heavy rain, it was slightly muddy. The orchards were surrounded by
fences, to prevent livestock from causing damage, and to distinguish between family properties.
The fence was surrounded by thorny rattans. If one couldn''t find the entrance, they''d easily get hurt.
I circled the garden and saw Hugoing out. He smiled at me and said, "The entrance is on the
other side. You have to turn around, but do keep in mind it rainedst night, and the area here is full
of construction sites. It won''t be an easy road to walk about, so you have to be careful!"
I nodded. After walking some distance along the path he had pointed out, I did find the way into the
orchard.
During the season of August, most of the pears in the yard were edible, but some were slow to
ripen or just too immature to ripen properly.
Sour fruits were a no-go, so naturally, I had to find and pick the ones that looked sweet.
Fortunately at noon, there were no more water droplets on the fruits, and there were plenty of ripe
ones. As I was walking, I heard some chatting, and I couldn''t help but stop in my tracks.
Hendrix and Rowane.
Rowane said in a delicate voice, "Mr. Roberts, there''s no need for you toe with me. The garden
isn''t far. I could''ve gone by myself. It''ll be so boring for Master Attwood to stay there alone. You
could have stayed there and apanied him."
Hendrix s voice was light as he replied, "I''m fine. The road is slippery. It''s not safe for you toe
here alone!"
His words had some warmth to them. I peeked and saw Rowane smile faintly, her eyes sparkling.
