Chapter 1013
I was no longer interested in this conversation, so I angled my body to walk around her.
Suddenly, she reached out and grabbed my arm. Thoroughly annoyed, I frowned at her. "What else
do you want to say, Miss Zanes?"
She smiled insidiously. "I have plenty to say. Since you are so calm about everything, then you
might be calm about death too, am I right?"
With that, she changed her grip, intending to push me into the pool.
I didn''t know how to swim. I twisted away and forcefully pinched her arm to let me go.
She jerked back in pain, and the momentum drove her away from me, towards the pool. So
because of inertia, what was supposed to be me falling into the pool, turned into her falling instead.
She fell in with a loud ssh, an oddly pleasurable sound.
A beautiful woman falling into the water garnered a certain amount of attention. Not that the woman
in question enjoyed the attention.
Someone came to Rowane''s side after seeing her struggling in the water for several moments. The
guy helped her to stand, as the water was not deep. When her feet touched the floor, she realised
that the man was holding onto her chest. Mortified, she screamed, "Get out of my way!"
The man was mad at being yelled at. He went from trying to help the struggling woman, to pushing
her back into the water.
As Rowane iled her arms and spluttered in the water, the people surrounding her watched on in
amusement. No one made a move to help her get away from the man.N?velDrama.Org exclusive content.
Startled, I opened my mouth to speak, to stop the man from acting too rashly when I heard a deep
voice beside my ear say, "Let her go!"
The voice was full of authority, ing from a powerful man used to being obeyed. The man
snapped to his senses and he immediately released Rowane.
Hendrix jump into the water and pulled Rowane up.
The dress that Rowane was wearing had been thin and slightly transparent. After a thorough
soaking, her wet clothes clung to her figure, entuating her body.
It was inevitable she''d attract leering eyes. Having lost some of her dignity and respect in front of
Hendrix Roberts, she burst into tears.
Hendrix frowned, took off his coat, and draped it over her shoulders He said, "Go back to your room
and change your clothes!"
Rowane tightened her grip on Hendrix''s coat. Suddenly, she turned to look at me. I did not like the
gleam in her eyes. She yelled, "Arianna, are you satisfied? Are you happy to see me in such a
pathetic state?"
I was shocked speechless. Why this—
She started crying pitifully. "It was you who said that Mr. Roberts was just another man to use. If you
do not want to be with him, why would you still hold onto him? If you don''t want to treat him nicely,
then why would you stop me from treating him nicely? How can you be so overbearing? Why would
you still keep him by your side? I just wanted to say a few nice things about Mr. Roberts to you.
Why would you push me into the pool? Why would you humiliate me like this?"
The lying, two- faced- When did I say these things?
Just another man to use? A man that I despised?
I finally saw this woman''s true colours and I couldn''t help but be stunned and disgusted.
Hendrix''s originally calm eyes glitterred in a cold rage. He looked at me condescendingly and
sneered, "Just another man that you used? I''ve be so cheap in your hands?"
I..
For a moment, I wanted to exin, but was interrupted by Rowane. "Arianna, yes, I admit, Mr.
Roberts loves you. He loves you so much, but you shouldn''t ruin a person''s sincerity like this. His
sincerity isn''t something that you can trample on and humiliate!"
