Chapter 641
When | called Irvin, | was in a cab with Anne in my arms.
When he picked up it sounded very busy on his end, with the noise of documents and cking ofputers. Even so, his voice
was warm, he asked, "Have you eaten?”
“Let''s meet up!" | said. The cab was already heading towards the Granger Group.
After a moment of silence, he responded, "Sure!"
The cab stopped in front of the Granger Group. Anneid her head on my shoulder; she dozed off after she had finished crying.
Two prettydies manned the reception desk at the Granger Group''s huge lobby area downstairs.
| didn''t go forward to ask about Irvin. From what | knew about Irvin, he''d being down here himself.? N?velDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
As expected, he arrived in the lobby five minutester.
Seeing that Anne had fallen asleep, he frowned and reached out to carry her, but | dodged him. | asked, "Should we talk
elsewhere, or right here?" People had taken notice of him ever since he got
here.
He furrowed his brows and said, "Let''s go to my office. There''s a rest lounge, let the child rest properly on the bed."
| nodded. | refused to let him carry Anne, and followed him upstairs on the president''s private elevator.
After four years, the Granger Group had almost doubled in size, and even the president''s office had been renovated into two
luxurious stories.
After cing Anne on the bed, | took a seat in the meeting lounge. He asked his secretary to serve me some tea. Since it was
my first time here, people couldn''t help but steal a couple of nces at me. This wasn''t all that surprising, considering that | was
also currently under public scrutiny.
“What would you like to eatter?" He didn''t seem to mind my reason for meeting him, but only asked what | wanted to eat.
| pursed my lips and changed the topic. "Whether you''d like to take your revenge on me, or to make me suffer, | ept them all
unconditionally. But, Irvin, children are innocent. | came back to Jarold City for only one reason, which is for Anne to have a good
future. She''s just a child who doesn''t know anything, but you''re an adult. You should know that no matter how evil one is, hurting
the innocent is never eptable, especially children."
He frowned and found my words puzzling. "Revenge? Make you suffer? Why would | do that?"
| shrugged. "The only reason that | could think of is that you hate me. | ept that, and I''m also willing to y along, but the
child is innocent. | don''t want her to get involved in this.”
He was silent for a long time, then looked up at me and said, "Did you think that | was the one who held the press conference for
Sierra''s attempted suicide?"
"Wasn''t it you?" There weren''t many people who would do this, and | couldn''t think of anyone else who could coerce Sierra into
destroying her own future just to frame me.
He suddenly let out a coldugh. He looked at me, face full of disdain as he said, "Arianna, the way you think of me now is utterly
ridiculous. When have | ever stooped so low and used dirty methods like this?"
"It''s not considered dirty. You''re a businessman who isn''tcking financially. Half of your life is done and dusted, and the only
discontentment you could possibly have is not being able to get what you want. | ept all of your dissatisfaction and grudge. All
these years, you''ve kept Nerissa around just to use her to oust me out of the Roberts family. Honestly, you didn''t have to do that.
Even if | didn''t stay in the Roberts family, Hendrix and | would still find a way to stay together. Moreover, Nerissa is only Hendrix''s
aunt. He respects her, but everyone has their limit. Once the line''s crossed, you and | both know what he would do.”
He sneered, a little mockingly. His
