    Chapter 587

    At noon!

Cecil stopped arguing with me and had gone home instead, likely because she was in a foul mood.

I did not notice it when Evan showed up at the door of the office. I turned my gaze towards the door

when I heard my female colleagues squealing amongst themselves.

"Miss Reid, can we talk privately?" Evan said with a look of calmness and seriousness on his face.

Noticing the curious eyes around us, I pursed my lips and nodded.

We walked out of the office, and arrived somewhere where no one was around. I stopped in my tracks

and asked, "Evan, what would you like to talk about?"

He pursed his lips. "Mr. Roberts wants to see you."

My first instinct was to reject him but after a pause, I nodded. "Where is he?"

    "At the hotel parking lot!"

I nodded. "Okay, I got it!"

When he saw that I was heading back to the office, he continued, "Miss Reid, Mr. Roberts is

    waiting for you downstairs."

    I...

I looked back at him, slightly annoyed. "I know. I''m going to get my bag!"

He was surprised but he did not look embarrassed at all. He just nodded and said, "I''ll wait for you

    here."Property belongs to N?vel(D)r/ama.Org.

    "As you wish!"

The two of them had worked alongside one another for so long that they practically had the same

habits and way of doing things.

I grabbed my bag and walked out of the office. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw me walking

out. It seemed like he was afraid that I would leave straight away.

    In the parking lot.

The door of the ck S-ss Mercedes car had been opened and Evan muttered some halfhearted

    excuse to leave halfway through.

When I got in the car, I saw the man''s head hung low as he carefully read through the documents in his

hand. His every move was elegant and reserved as his gaze darted from word to word.

"Two o''clock, I have work in the afternoon!" I beckoned.

He paused and flipped the document close in his hand. Then, he looked at me and said in a faint voice,

"I''ll send you back after lunch."

Hovell was small and there were not many high-end restaurants in this ce. However, Hendrix still

    managed to find one.

Hendrix had already made a reservation in advance. As soon as Hendrix and I arrived, the dishes were

    served quickly.

I stared casually at the scenery outside the window. It was already July. Days passed quickly and the

summer was almost gone in the blink of an eye.

He did not say anything as he ced food into my bowl. He continued to fill my bowl with food until it

    was full.

He looked at me without much of an expression and said, "Have a taste. They are all your favorites."

I looked down and my gaze fell on the table. Indeed, these used to be my favorite dishes.

However, after leaving Ucrebury for a few years, people changed. I did not take a bite at all and only

looked at him lightly. "The chili is too spicy and it''s not good for the body. I''ve grown used to eating

nd-tasting food for a long while now."

As Anne could not take spicy food since she was a kid, I had also gradually stopped eating them.

As he said that, he raised his hand and called the waiter over to rece all the dishes with something

    light.

I almost said something to stop him but felt that it would be unnecessary to do so. I just looked at him

casually as I let out a soft sigh.

I pursed my lips and looked at the fully filled bowl. An indescribable feeling overwhelmed me. I had lost

    my appetite long ago.

But now, I was quieter than ever. I didn''t want to say anything as I continued staring at the bowl in front

    of me and ate silently.

He ced a ss of water in front of me and nudged gently, "Slow down, I''m afraid that you''d choke."

I lowered my gaze and remained silent.

After half an hour, I finished eating. Hendrix only watched me eat; he did not touch his cutleries at all.

When he saw me putting my cutleries away, he asked, "Are you full?"
