    It was pointless to stop Valerie from talking to me. She would either tell me ways to eat healthily or


    ways to take care of Anne.


    Valerie disregarded my indifference. She even ignored my cold treatment towards her.


    I stopped talking half an hourter. She made breakfast and told me to eat while it was still hot.


    Then, she instructed midwives, "Please clean up the house."


    After talking to the midwives, she turned to me and said, "Eat food with higher protein as you are

    Hendrix saw a few people in the vi when he woke up. He frowned slightly and asked, "What''s going


    on?"


    Valerie answered him, "I brought the midwives here to take care of Anne so that both of you can rest at


    night. You should have enough sleep to do your work.


    Hendrix looked at the two midwives who were busy cleaning the vi. He did not say much.

    the morning to clean things up? Moreover, she even sent us two midwives and personally made us


    breakfast. Under normal circumstances, a normal friend would not do such things!"


    He put down his work and walked towards me, got down on one knee. With a light smile, he asked, "Is

    He kissed my hand and asked, "Maybe she just wanted to make it up to you?"

    I looked at him and said with a serious tone, "Hendrix, I don''t care. You have to find a way to stop her


    froming to our house. Also, we should take Anne with us to visit your grandfather, my


    grandmother, and Monique this New Year."


    He got up and pulled me into his arms, "Well, it''s time to see them, but we cannot bring Anne. She is


    still too young to go to the cemetery," Hendrix exined with his deep low voice.


    I thought for a while and agreed with Hendrix''s suggestion, "Well, when are we going?" I asked.


    "Tomorrow!" he answered. He lowered his head and kissed me on the lips.


    Valerie happened to enter the study room with Anne. She snorted and grinned, "It seems that it''s not


    the right time for us toe here. You two carry on. I''ll take little Anne downstairs for a walk."


    Hendrix looked up and asked her calmly, "Is Anne hungry?"


    Valerie nodded and answered with a smile, "She has been whining, refusing to drink the form. I


    brought her up because I think she wanted breast milk."


    Hendrix took Anne from Valerie and handed her to me, "Go feed Anne."


    He then left the study room with Valerie.


    I always felt that Hendrix was hiding something from me, but I couldn''t figure out what it was at the


    moment.
