    Chapter 474

The driver spoke with his face pale from fright.

I was in a daze, and when I came back to my senses, I noticed that blood was dripping from my knees

    and elbows.

Though the wound from Andrea''s scratches and from the ss fragments when I protected Hendrix in

the hospital had already healed before, the hard impact I suffered when I fell on the ground caused the

wound to tear open once more.

The wound looked pretty bad, and I was losing a lot of blood.

"Thank you!" I had no choice but let him take me to the hospital because I sure as heck would not be

able to drive there on my own now.

    In the hospital!

The doctor cleaned my wound while the driver paid for the medical fees and got me a prescription. He

looked apologetic and concerned as he looked at me.

He must have been in a hurry before, yet he still stuck around to care for me. I suddenly felt guilty.

"What happened today was my fault, yet you sent me to the hospital and took care of everything. I''m

very sorry. I''m fine now, so please go about your day!"

He looked at my mangled knee and apologized again, "I was the one who hit you. I''m really sorry.

Please contact your family members. I''ll take full responsibility once theye."

His man was so honest. There was no need to hold him up here, and I insisted that he didn''t have take

responsibility for this. But still, he was adamant on waiting for my family toe and to have a talk with

    them about what happened.

Thus, I had no choice but to call Hendrix.

Hendrix sounded quiet over the phone. "Have you eaten yet?"

I opened my mouth and asked awkwardly, "Hendrix, are you busy now?"

    He answered, "What''s the matter?"

"I was hit by a car and got a little hurt. Can youe to the hospital?"

"Hit by a car?" He was shocked, his voice sounded heavy.

It was not convenient for me to say more, so I just replied, "Yes, but it''s just a minor injury.

    Can youe over?"

"Give me the address!" After saying this, I heard him say over the phone, "Let''s stop here. Please

discuss amongst yourselves on how to go about the issue. The meeting''s over!"

"You''re still in a meeting?" I was a little surprised and unconsciously looked at the time on my phone. It

was already six in the evening.

He hummed in acknowledgment and asked, "What is the address?"

"I''m at the government hospital. You don''t have to rush. It''s not a big deal, after all." I hung up the

    phone after I finished speaking.

The driver nced at me with a hint of worry and self-me in his eyes.

    About fifteen minutester.

    Hendrix arrived.

He came in a hurry, his presence bringing along an air of harsh coldness. Seeing that I was lying on the

hospital bed, he frowned, turned to the nurse standing nearby and asked, "How is she?"

The nurse was dumbfounded by his sudden question. Her eyes were bright, and her face was a little

red when she answered, "Fortunately, it''s all just bruises. There''s nothing to worry about apart from her

old wounds reopening. Everything aside from that should heal after a few days."

Hendrix murmured something in reply and shot his dark gaze at me. He pursed his lips and did not

speak. Instead, he red at the drive, who was terrified of Hendrix from the aura he emitted.

"Are you the one responsible for what''s happened to her?"

The driver was shocked by his indifferent tone. He paused and exined, "I was driving at the speed

limit. Thisdy suddenly rushed into the road, and I hit her before I could step on the brakes. I''m really

    sorry. I didn''t mean it."

Hendrix looked at me and interrogated, "Is this true?"

I nodded. "It''s not a big deal. My family ising too. Thank you. You can go now."

The driver probably felt too pressured by Hendrix and looked a little timid. He bowed his head slightly,

uttered a few words of apology, and left.

The nurse who had juste in to change the IV fluid did not leave. She stood by the side of the bed,

packing the medicine bottle, and peeked at Hendrix from time to time with her delicate eyes.

Hendrix had always been an eye- catching individual. He would definitely stand out in a crowd. Plus, he

was elegant and cold, so it was inevitable that this youngdy would have a crush on him.

"What happened?" Hendrix asked as his gaze fell on my hands and feet, which were bandaged like

    dumplings.

I thought for a moment and said, "I was a little absent- minded when I walked by the street, so I

    identally got hit."

He frowned and mocked sarcastically, "Do you use your eyes to breathe?"

I pouted, looked at him with my head tilted, and said, "Shouldn''t you be hugging me andforting me

now? Why are you still criticizing me?"
