Chapter 468

    Chapter 468

Hendrix remained silent, only staring at Andrea. Evidently, he was waiting for Andrea to say that she

    wouldn''t look into it anymore.

Andrea''s focus was also on him, and her eyes were full of despair and pain. She struggled to pick up

the shard from the ground before plunging them towards him.

Since I was by Hendrix''s side, I immediately blocked the attack. The ss fragments were stuck into

my arm, and I was in so much pain that I broke out into a cold sweat.

Fortunately, she was injured, so she couldn''t cut as deep as she would''ve if she had her full strength.

Andrea watched us for a long time before throwing away the shards in her hand. All of a sudden, she

looked like all energy had left her body as she said. "You guys can go. I won''t look into this anymore!"

In the treatment room, Josiah cleaned and disinfected my wounds. Hendrix had gone into the operating

theatre, and my mind was a mess.

I had barely processed what had just happened and was still feeling numb all over.

Josiah said a lot of things to me, but I couldn''t register any of them. Valerie and Pedro came in and

looked at me, their gaze conflicted.

Valerie spoke first. "Are you all right?"

I turned to them. As I didn''t know their intention, I replied indifferently, "If both of you want to sue me,

    then go ahead."

Valerie shook her head and peeked at me as she replied, "No, we came to check on you. Miss Reid,

    you..."

"Alright, let''s go see Andrea. Consider this done with!" Pedro interrupted Valerie and dragged her out.

After he bandaged my wounds, Josiah nced at the two of them as they left. His gaze was rather

profound. He furrowed his brows and said, "It seems like the Moore family will not sue you."

Honestly, I was not afraid of what they would do to me at all. I lowered my head slightly and looked at

    the wound on my arm.

I looked at Josiah and asked, "Nothing will happen to Hendrix, right?"

Heughed, "If there was no organ damage, then it is but a minor injury. He should be fine after a few

    stitches. Don''t worry."

I nodded, but deep down, I just couldn''t let it go.

After Hendrix finished getting his wound stitched, he got down from the hospital bed and nced my

way, saying, "Come, let''s go home!"

I was stunned for a few seconds, and then the emotions I had kept suppressed in my heart finally

floated to the top. "Hendrix, are you out of your mind? You just came out of surgery and you''re already

jumping at the opportunity to put yourself in danger, don''t you think you''re injured enough?"

It was already three in the wee hours of morning. Minnie and Nerissa had gone home, and so had

Josiah and Austin. The Moore family on the other hand, had hired a nurse to take care of Andrea.

I didn''t mind staying behind for Hendrix, yet he wanted to go back. So, I couldn''t help but raise my

    voice at him.

He was surprised by my burst of emotions for a brief moment. Then, he frowned at me. "I thought you

didn''t like being in the hospital?"

I pouted and pulled him to the hospital bed. Looking at the wound on his abdomen that had just been

freshly bandaged, I felt unbearably upset. "Lie down. When the doctor says you can leave the hospital,

    then we''ll leave.1

Heid down and stared at me, patting the space next to him, and spoke, "Lie down beside me.

Otherwise, we''re going to go back home and sleep."

I pursed my lips. I didn''t want to argue with an injured person. Not to mention, I was exhausted. I had

no choice but to justy down beside him and tried not to squeeze him to the edge of the bed.

He moved over to hold me in his arms, whispering in a low voice, "Sleep well."

Hearing his voice, I couldn''t hold back the tears that I had kept restrained the whole night anymore.

I turned around and leaned against his chest, with tears helplessly streaming down my cheeks.

"Hendrix, please don''t do stupid things for me anymore. I don''t need it, and I don''t want you to get hurt

    because of me."

He hooked my chin and his gaze was deep. "Are you upset?"

I rubbed my lips together and raised my head to kiss him. Because of my clumsiness, he couldn''t help

    but give a bitter smile.

As we were at the hospital, he pushed me away slightly and warned in a low voice, "Alright, that''s

    enough. This is a hospital."

Women were emotional beings. Since my emotions were crashing into me like waves on a shore,

vigorous and unending, it was natural for me to just not stop here. I avoided his wound and buried my

    head into his neck.

His breathing was a little heavy, and his voice was rough. "Arianna, don''t fool around. This is a

    hospital."

His words fell on deaf ears. I kissed him once more and climbed onto him as I cried in his chest.

He argued weakly, "This is a hospital. If you want to kiss, wait till we go home and do it."

I ignored him. I just stubbornly wanted to cry. He helplessly coaxed me and asked, "Did you miss me?"
