Chapter 446
I was caught in a faze for a second, reeling from the faint pain in my lower abdomen. I said quietly,
"Hendrix, I''m beat!"
He understood what I meant, and did not force me to do it. He just nodded slightly and said, "Okay, rest
well, then."
Despite saying so, when Hendrixid beside me and held me in his arms, he still showered me with
breathless kisses.
It was clear that he had held himself back for a long time.
I curled into myself even more, trying to hide away from his advances but the edge of the bed was right
behind me; I could fall off anytime. So, I raised my hand to push him away, but he grabbed it instead.
Seeing that he already had one hand tugging at my bra strap, I frowned, "Hendrix..."
"It''s okay, don''t be scared!"
I held his hand down. "I''m sorry, I just can''t right now!"
He smiled and kissed me gently. Then, he tried to coax me seductively, "It''s okay, we can take it slow."
He may have misunderstood what I meant which left me at a loss for words for a brief moment.
In my silence, realization finally dawned upon him. He lowered his gaze on me and a look of surprise
shed across his face. "When did you get your period?
"Tonight!" I said wearily.
He then got up and walked out of the bedroom. Iid in bed, feeling a little scatterbrained. Before I
could figure out what he was going to do, I saw hime in with a mug of ginger tea. I couldn''t mask
my surprise.
"Minnie added some brown sugar too. Have some and then go sleep!" He raised the mug close to my

The tea was sweet, which I wasn''t a fan of. After a few sips, I couldn''t drink it anymore.
Seeing this, he said, "Drink more!"
I frowned and said, "No thank you, I''ve had enough."
"Come on. Finish it and then have a good rest." He was stubborn and unwavering in his attempt to
refuse my refusal.
After being with him for so many years, I knew that if I continued to drag things out like this, I would be
the one suffering in the end. So, through gritted teeth, I made myself finish the mug of warm ginger tea.
My body had not recovered yet, and since I was on my period, my head felt like it was spinning non-
stop.
Although I had slept well the night before, my blood cirction still probably wasn''t in great shape, so I
was feeling a little lightheaded.
Hendrix had a lot on his te, and he had to prepare for hispany''s annual meeting soon, so he
asked Minnie to stay in the vi to care for me.
I slept in for a bit. After being in bed for an extra hour and a half, I epted that I couldn''t fall back
asleep anymore. As I was scrolling through my phone, I suddenly received a call.
I answered it and said ndly, "Hello, Mr. Lewis!"
Michael was a smart and perceptive person. When he heard me speak, he sounded chirpy and said,
"Miss Reid, did you sleep wellst night? Would you do me the honor of treating you to lunch?"
"Sure thing, Mr. Lewis. Thank you in advance for the meal!" "No thanks needed. Moreover, it is I who
should be thanking you, Miss Reid!"
After the call ended, I was about to get up from the bed when I received a call from Kelsey.
"So, did Michael ask to meet up?" She dived straight to the point, no beating around the bush

I nodded and said, "Yes, you get news pretty fast!"
She smiled, "I heard that Arnold was detained by the police this morning. The money he earned
illegally over the years is well over hundred and millions of dors; that in itself is already a crime. He
probably won''t be able to get out for at least 10 years."
"But Michael seemed to have disappeared. He must have gotten the news in advance. When the police
arrived at Michael''s ce, he had already made a run for it. I thought for a moment and realized that he
most likely would have gone to you!"
Hearing such sureness in her voice, I couldn''t help but ask, "How did you guess that he woulde to
me?"

have been the one getting caught, instead of him."

"I see. How''s it going with the Moore family?" I asked casually.

been abroad, has returned. This woman was only born when Master Moore was 60 years old. She''s
heavily doted on and has a pretty vicious personality. She doesn''t seem to like Valerie and Andrea very

With a faint smile, I got out of bed and said, "Seems like Valerie will be getting busy."
