    drove fast. Sitting in the front passenger seat, Pearl watched the scenery outside as it rushed by. She

    Jennyughed bitterly, her anger evident. “I knew it. You wouldn’t care so much


    about Pearl if you hadn’t suddenly recalled your feelings.”


    Richard had no desire to engage in that conversation with Jenny and disyed a disgusted expression.
