    “I’m going to take a shower. Wait for me here,” he instructed calmly, then walked into the bathroom.


    The sound of running water filled the air, and Pearl slowly made her way to Richard’s bed, where she


    took a seat, her heart pounding.

    she did, it might be futile because he might not listen.

    The sound of sshing water ceased after a while. The bathroom door opened, and Richard emerged,
