Pearl apanied Esther to the police station to give a statement. The policeman was captivated by

Hanzel stood nearby with a stern expression and interjected, “What now? Has the Waldorf family lost
its influence in these matters?”
“Mister Hanzel, we’re just doing our job. Besides, the influence of the Waldorfs doesn’t extend to our
police department,” the policeman acknowledged, smiling at Hanzel’s evident displeasure but offering
no substantial reassurance.
If Hanzel were detained, they might consider releasing him, as no one wanted to offend the Waldorfs.
But Esther appeared to
be out of luck
As the tension escted, a voice suddenly echoed in the police station. “What about the York family?
Do the words of the Yorks carry any weight?”
Pearl frowned slightly. “What are you doing here?”
“Well, I heard about it from the production team. After all, it’s a script I invested in. I need to show some
concern.” Raymond York walked in with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
“Of course, they do. What brings you here, Mister Raymond?” The policeman’s attitude immediately

background carried considerable weight and authority.
