Chapter 1380

    Chapter 1380

The world, once mired in chaos, snapped into focus in an instant, and every reflection in her eyes was

stained with the hue of blood.

    Text property ? N?vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

She tumbled to the ground next to Ian, her knees hitting the concrete as she desperately tried to

    staunch the bleeding.

    "Help! Somebody help!"

Her cries echoed around the empty warehouse, her voice returning to her as a haunting reminder of

    their istion.

In that moment, the chaos ceased to grip her. She shook Ian''s body, tears streaming uncontrobly

    down her cheeks.

Nydia stood atop the staircase, her grip tightening on the gun. She tried to light a cigarette, but her

    trembling fingers refused to cooperate.

    Her bodyguard hurried over.

    "Nydia, what should we do?"

Nydia pped him upside the head in frustration.

"What the hell are you waiting for? Get him to a hospital! Anyter and we''ll be arranging a funeral!"

    "Right away, right away."

Nydia attempted to descend, but her legs nearly buckled beneath her.

Damn it, why did these things always have to involve her?

    "Ian!!!"

Someone approached, intent on carrying Ian away.

Maja clung to him fiercely, as if holding onto the most precious thing in the world, refusing anyone else

    toe near.

But then she snapped to her senses, letting go and rising to her feet.

"Take him to the hospital, now!"

Everyone in the underground fight club knew how important Ian was, and even the bodyguards

    assisting them were fearful.

Maja shoved one aside. "I''ve got him."

Her voice regained its certainty as she draped one of Ian''s arms over her shoulder.

As the group piled into the vehicle, the bodyguard nced at Maja''s face in the rearview mirror.

She just clutched Ian''s hand tightly, her expression subdued.

All her naivety, innocence, and confusion had vanished.

The bodyguard dared not judge the events that had just transpired, focusing solely on his duty to get

    Ian to the hospital.

Ian was unconscious and in need of urgent care.

Maja sat in the corridor, still and silent.

Back at the fight club, Nydia had downed three cups of coffee but still couldn’t calm her nerves.

The previous night, she had suggested they just put on an act. Ian, drawing on a cigarette, had said

indifferently, "No good. She''s been hypnotized, not made a fool. She’s sharper now, can spot real from

    fake in an instant."

"What if I actually kill you, Ian?"

    "If I die, I die."

    So nonchnt.

Thinking back, Nydia felt a surge of anger and quickly inquired about Ian’s condition.

    "How’s the rescue going?"

"The bullet missed the heart. He''s not in any life-threatening danger."

Nydia copsed back into her chair with a thud, finally feeling like she could breathe again.

    "Andy, pour me another coffee."

Andy, her most trusted bodyguard and asional bedfellow, was young, only twenty this year.

Everyone addressed her as Nydia, but not him. He called her "Madam."

    "Madam."

He respectfully filled her cup with coffee, sneaking a nce at her face.

The normally unppable woman seemed genuinely terrified now, sweat trickling down her cheeks.

"I''m getting old. If I have to go through this a few more times, my heart won''t stand it."

"Madam is still young, not old at all."

Nydia chuckled weakly, her face pale. "That lunatic! My fingers still feel numb from pulling that trigger."

Andy quickly bowed his head, kneeling in front of her, his eyes downcast as he massaged her hands.

Nydia sighed in relief, leaning back and letting the tension drain away.
