Chapter 1026

    Chapter 1026

Tyler was baffled, wondering what sort of magic Maja possessed that had Ian so smitten. Even in the

face of damning evidence, he was still defending her.

And, he noticed, if he kept badmouthing Maja, he''d probably lose his brotherhood with Ian.

So, he had to let it go, chuckling as he put down his wine ss.

"Who knew you were such a fool for love?"

Ian ignored him. Now that he was with Maja, he was literally exuding a pink aura.

    N?vel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.

Tyler, a confirmed bachelor allergic to romance, pushed him away in distaste.

"Back off, mate. The stench of love is revolting."

Ian chuckled, the thought of Maja sweetening his every word.

    "You''re just jealous."

"Jealous that you''re now on a leash? Or that your assets will be divided in half? I, Tyler, would rather

die than fall in love. Casual flings are the best, mutual benefits, no obligations."

Tyler poured himself another drink, sneering at Ian.

"And who knows if you can make it till the end? If you were meant to be, there wouldn''t have been a

divorce in the first ce. Technically, she tricked you into it. Would you still have signed the papers if

you knew she was your wife?"

This jab hit close to home, leaving Ian silent.

Aware that he''d hit a nerve, Tyler quickly changed the subject.

"Anyway, let''s drop it. Kudos to you for finding a woman you''d want to keep, unlike me, who gets bored

    after the third time."

His tone was louder than he''d intended, and many around them heard. Some were envious, others

    flipped him off.

Wasn''t this the dream of most men? Sleep with a beauty, no strings attached?

Most men just didn''t dare to admit it.

    Was Tyler bragging?

He poured himself another drink, a smirk curling his lips.

"Honestly, the woman who can tie me down probably hasn''t been born yet."

His words had barely left his lips when his phone rang, causing his eyebrows to knit together. He

    answered the call.

Upon hearing the news, his face darkened.

"What? Are they recasting my role? I''ll be right there!"

Tyler stood up, patting Ian on the shoulder.

"There''s a snag in the new series I''m working on. Also, Fitch won''t be joining us tonight, and his car got

    into a fender-bender."

Once Tyler left, nobody dared to approach Ian.

Ian left the VIP room after a few minutes.

Stepping into the corridor, he ran into Samuel, a long-lost acquaintance. Samuel looked like he wanted

to punch Ian right then and there.

"Ian, when ites to being cunning, you take the cake. I didn''t know my old man had so many

    skeletons in the closet."

Samuel had been abroad settling the mess his father had created.

Daniel was a scoundrel, and he had an illegitimate son abroad. If the son returned, Samuel would have

    to share his inheritance.

Upon learning this, Samuel immediately flew abroad to handle the situation.

He didn''t expect that the woman who bore Daniel''s son was also a formidable opponent. It took him

considerable effort to finally settle the matter. But, on his return, he heard that Ian and Maja were

    together.

    What a farce.

Ian lit a cigarette, a smile ying on his lips.

"Well, it was your dad who caused all this. I only informed you to prevent you from losing your fortune.

    You should be thanking me."

Samuel came closer, and his usually jovial face was now devoid of any smile.

"I should thank you. If it weren''t for someone advising that woman behind the scenes, I could''ve

    returned earlier."

"Would it have made a difference if you came back earlier? Maja has a strong sense of integrity in

rtionships, and you''ve slept with numerous women. Do you think she''d want you?"

Samuel''s clenched fists trembled at his sides. In the end, he didn''t say anything else and just walked

    into the VIP room.

Ian didn''t need to do anything himself for this scheme to work. A simple phone call to order someone

else to do it was enough.

He flicked the ash off his cigarette, his eyes heavy with worry.

    Samuel was serious.

He suddenly felt anxious. They''d only been together for a few days, yet he felt threatened.
