Chapter 970
Mr. Haley of the EcoTraverse Group was a bystander for the most part, his eyes flitting from one
person to another, a smirk of contempt etched in his eyes.
The contract was due to expire in three minutes, and the Raymond family was already nning to
announce Dennis as the new president of Raymond Corporation.
Everyone was keen to make a good impression on Dennis, so they opened the conference room door
and invited the executives waiting outside.
The meeting mirrored a previous one, with the same yers present. However, the executives who had
previously supported Ian were visibly exhausted after a four-day onught from Dennis and his
supporters.
Pearson stood up, his face lit up with a smile.
"Since we''re all here, I''d like to announce that the new president of Raymond Corporation is my father!"
The room erupted in apuse. Supporters of Dennis stood up, pping their hands enthusiastically.
Dennis'' face was flushed with excitement. He had never dreamed that he would be able to topple Ian.
He looked at the agreement he had signed with Mr. Haley, his voice steady.
"Mr. Haley, you currently hold 20% of Raymond Corporation''s shares. As per our agreement, I will buy
them at more than double the share price."
Mr. Haley nodded, his gaze shifting involuntarily to the conference room door.
Dennis had invested heavily to acquire Mr. Haley''s shares. He had mortgaged his properties, invested
all his cash, and even borrowed $200 million from the bank.
A wave of cheers filled the room as people taunted Ian, saying that his day of reckoning hade.
The executives who had sided with Ian looked as if they were attending a funeral. They knew they
would all be fired once Dennis took the presidential seat.
They had never expected Ian to lose.
Dennis pped the agreement with Mr. Haley, eager to exercise his power as president.
"We will be having a three-hour meeting shortly to discuss the future of Raymond Corporation. I hope
everyone will attend. However, before that, some of the executives should voluntarily step down to
make way for fresh blood."
He smirked at the executives who had supported Ian, his voice dripping with smugness.
"I''ve already chosen the recements. At this age, being fired from Raymond Corporation means you
probably won''t find a good job elsewhere. You can only me yourselves for trusting Ian too much."
Those who supported Dennis were rewarded with an additional $100,000 in annual bonuses.
The room was filled with cheers and groans. But amidst the celebration, the conference room door

opened.
The Raymond family members frowned. Everyone who was supposed to be there was present, so who
could interrupt the meeting?
Then, a man''s voice rang out calmly.
"I hope I''m not interrupting anything?"
Ian stood at the doorway, nked by several staff members from the shareholding trustpany, some
Ian''s gaze swept over everyone in the room as he leisurely walked towards the main seat.
Dennis, sitting in the main seat, looked ufortable. How did Ian get out?
Did the special investigation team not have any evidence yet, so they released him first?
But that shouldn''t be the case. Ian was the one who kidnapped Holden. If the team investigated
carefully, they would indeed find some clues.
After all, the team members were top-notch investigators.
Dennis was momentarily confused, but remembering that the agreement had ended, a smile returned
to his face.
"Ian, it''s good that you''re here. I can announce Raymond Corporation''s decisions in front of you."
Ian chuckled, and Jeff tried to push Dennis out of the seat.
This time, Dennis stood firm, refusing to budge.
"Ian, this isn''t a ce where you can throw your weight around."
As soon as Dennis finished speaking, Mr. Haley stood up and, together with Jeff, pushed Dennis away.
Mr. Haley''s treatment of Ian was nothing short of obsequious. He wiped the chair, mimicking Jeff''s
actions fromst time, and only after disinfecting the chair did he dare to gesture for Ian to take a seat.
