    Chapter 903

Elvis opened his mouth, wanting to say somethingforting, but he didn’t know what to say and

just stared at the documents on the bed. Maja understood his character well. She let out a sigh.

“Then you just stay in the hospital. If there’s an opportunity, I’ll make that woman pay!”

“Ms. Pennyfeather,” Elvis looked up at her, “showbiz is a tough ce where the powerless are bullied.

We’re not high up enough on the food chain, so all we can do is suck it up. But at least we’re alive and

kicking, so don’t worry too much. We’ll just be extra careful next time.” At 32, Elvis saw things clearer

    than anyone else.

Maja nodded. When she returned to the car, she felt exhausted. It was not just physically, but mentally

    too.

    }

She thought their work for the month was almost done, that she could finally take a breather, but now

she just wanted to keep her nose to the grindstone, to quickly make Star Movie Group a bigpany,

not just a pushover like they were now.

She went back to Rosewood Manor to rest.

In the evening, she took Coco out for a walk. Only when she was with Coco did she feel a little better.

Holding Coco’s leash, she left Rosewood Manor, deciding to take a stroll around the neighborhood.

She ended up in the ce where she first met Connie, back when Connie was still sketching, looking

so innocent. But in a short amount of time, everything had changed,

“Woof woof!” Coco suddenly started barking towards a man standing in the distance. But because he

was too far away, Maja couldn’t make out his face. She could only feel that he was tall and had a good

    aura.

“Woof!” Coco barked, running towards the man.

“Coco!” Maja didn’t know what Coco saw and why he was so excited. She quickly followed he, but

when she got there, the man was already gone.

She saw Coco pacing around the spot, his tail wagging, his ears perked up. Maja suddenly had a

ridiculous thought. Could that man have been Coco’s previous owner? Could it have been him?

She walked Coco along the path. It started raining, this path led to the park. She didn’t bring an

umbre, Coco seemed thrilled in the rain. For some reason, Maja’s mood lifted a bit. It was like going

on a treasure hunt with Coco. She was good atforting herself, so she only focused on whether

    they could find the “treasure.”

“Woof!” Coco wagged his tail up front, but also looked after Maja without running too fast. Maja held the

leash in her hand, wiping the rain off her face. It was peaceful around. Probably because of the sudden

rain, everyone else had gone home. Maja took a deep breath and suddenly shouted, “Patric! Is that

    you?”

After she shouted, everything was still quiet. Maja didn’t want to return to Rosewood Manor, because

whenever she sat quietly, she’d unintentionally think of Darlene’s pregnancy.

So she chose to keep walking along this path, for who knew how long, until Coco suddenly stopped.

She looked up and saw a body being washed away by the rain, the blood flowing down the winding

    creek.

Maja took a step back, holding tightly onto Coco’s leash.

Under the tree behind the bodies, a man in a raincoat appeared, holding a machete. They stared at

    each other.

Maja crouched down almost immediately, unfastening Coco’s leash and pointing downwards. The path

    Text property ? N?vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

upwards was uphill, going down would be easier. Coco was in great shape. He could run faster than

any human. As for herself escape probably wasn’t an option.

The man was alreadying at her with the knife. Maja made sure Coco had run off before she took

another step back. But she stumbled and almost fell.

He exuded an eerie and fierce aura, blood still dripping off the tip of his knife. She fell and her ankle

started to swell. She sat on the ground helplessly. The man crouched down, lifting her chin with his

hand. He was wearing a pair of ck gloves, like he had a serious case of germophobia.

Maja thought he’d split her head open with the machete, but he just lifted her chin. He looked at her for

five minutes, and then asked, “Where’s the stuff Patric gave you?”

Maja’s pupils contracted. She thought she had just stumbled upon a regr murder case, and that

she was only a target because she was a witness. But it turned out he was here for her.

His gloves were soaked with rain. He raised his hand and without hesitation, knocked her out.
