Chapter 595
He put down his ss with a faint smirk on his lips.
“I offered her a billion, and she tore up the check and threw it in my face. I only asked for a month of
her time. Did she feel ripped off?”
Tyler stifled augh, unable to picture such a scene, but it was totally something Penny might do.
He quickly raised his ss.
“Bottom line, you’re getting a divorce tomorrow. Your grandpa probably won’t care who you’re intò
anymore. You should properly apologize to Penny. She must’ve been freaked out today. After all,
women need some sweet talk. If you don’t butter her up, someone else will.”
They both knew who that someone else was without saying it out loud.
After all,n and Penny were only secret lovers
But this guy clearly didn’t have the awareness of being a lover.
When Maja woke up at 3 a.m. to the sound of the doorbell outside the living room, she initially thought
she had heard wrong and rolled over in bed.
She hadn’t been able to sleep for the two nights whenn had blindfolded her.
Or rather, she hadn’t slept much since her father passed away a week ago.
Now she was exhausted, knowing that it was him. Her mental burden wasn’t as heavy.
Either way, once or twice, it was torture.
The doorbell rang for ten minutes. Rita across the hall couldn’t stand it and opened her own door, only
to see the man standing outside. She immediately held her breath, swallowed the curse she was about
to hurl, quickly stepped back and closed the door..
She was afraid that one second slower and she would be spotted by him.
But Maja never opened the door. Someone had made a scene at her door all night, and she could
sleep soundly, let alone just a doorbell ringing now.
Half an hourter, Maja still hadn’t opened the door. Ian skillfully took out his key and let himself in.
And Rita across the hall was standing at her own door all this time and only let out a sigh of relief when
she saw through the peephole that the man had gone in
She had learned her lesson, and ever since she was scared by Maja, she hadn’t had any other ideas.
No response.

He was thirsty and wanted a drink.
He went to the bedroom, saw a lump on the bed, so he lifted the nket, and wanted to lie down.
Maja woke up immediately when she smelled the faint scent of alcohol.

Then she quickly got out of bed, startled to see the man lying next to her.
The fear of being controlled insanely reappeared. She suppressed her difort, carefully got out of
bed, didn’t even dare to put on her coat in the bedroom, grabbed her clothes and wanted to leave.
But when her hand touched the bedroom door handle, she heard a voice behind her.
“Where are you going?”
At this moment, she felt a little scalp tingling.
It was already three–thirty in the morning, so she didn’t understand whyn was here.
“Mr. Raymond.”
He was still in his suit, but his tie was discarded in the living room, his shirt buttons undone to his
chest, revealing his muscr body.
The bedsidemp wasn’t turned off. The dim light and his slightly drunken breath were quite a match.
Maja stood still, watching him slowly get off the bed and approach.
She leaned tightly against the door.
One of his hands propped next to her head, “Penny, what would it take for you to divorce your
husband? If you don’t need the money, tell me, what do you need?”
As long as he could give it, he was willing to give it.
Maja didn’t answer. Her character sometimes really made people feel aggrieved.
With patience, he looked down at her, his eyes filled with seriousness apart from the drunkenness.
“After the divorce, be with me. Whatever you want, I can give you.”
His voice was very low. He took one of her hands, and suddenly pulled out a ring from his suit jacket.
The ring had a huge diamond, as big as a pigeon’s egg.
In his understanding, he really couldn’t think of any other way to please her.
“I’m sorry for what happened these past few days.”
At this sentence, a flicker of surprise shed in Maja’s eyes.
Was a person liken actually apologizing to someone?
Did she hear wrong?
