Chapter 578
She spoke nonchntly, ordering food on her phone and also getting a fresh cup of coffee
Althoughn wasn’t fond of drinking coffee in such cafes, he was a bit miffed that she didn’t order
anything for him.
He nced at the menu, realizing that a cup of coffee wasn’t that expensive. Was she really unwilling
to spend even this small amount of money on him?
He frowned slightly.
Maja noticed him putting down the menu, his tone seeming indifferent.
“Penny, how much money do you need to make peace with her?”
As soon as he finished speaking, Maja turned to look at him.
For a moment,n thought he saw a trace of resentment in her eyes.
He thought he must be mistaken, but before he could ask, a full cup of coffee sshed on his face.
The coffee was icy, making him step back but not quick enough to dodge it.
“Do you think money can solve all problems?”
She stood up, staring at him icily.
“Keep Mr. Raymond’s money for the Shepard family.”
name your price.”
“I want the entire Raymond Corporation! Are you willing to pay that for Carlene?!”
“Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.”
Maja chuckled. “You think you know me; you think I won’t make excessive demands. So you want to
get rid of me with some money, then you can show it off to your goddess. As for the conflict between
me and Carlene, you don’t care at all, you only care about what you want.”
“Who are you to me? Why should I care about you?”
That sentence was deeply hurtful.
Ian would never know how much he had to do to make up for the damage caused by this sentence.
Maja stared at him for a full minute, then packed up and left.
Then he took a deep breath, just as Carlene called.
n, about what happened on the cruise, I can apologize to Penny. Can you arrange it?”
Only then didn chase after her, pulling Maja back.
“Carlene said she wants to apologize to you personally. Is an apology what you want?”
Her near–drowning and her father’s life were worth just an apology?
Maja found it so ridiculous that she actually startedughing.

He immediately let go of her; disbelief flickered in his eyes.
He pursed his lips and smirked. “Do you really think I won’ty a hand on you?”
Maja took a deep breath and closed her eyes. “Then do it! Mr. Raymond, I hope you do it yourself; kill
me.”
The car was cramped, and he kissed her violently.
Maja bit him hard like a cornered animal, and their mouths filled with the taste of blood.
He couldn’t help but pull away, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
She chuckled and raised an eyebrow, saying, “Even at this point, Mr. Raymond, you still kiss me. Do
you actually like me?”
“I never had feelings.”
Her answer was so firm, without any hesitation.
