Chapter 528
Zoey hit up Maja after she woke up, telling her that she’d signed a contract with EliteEdge Consortium.
With contracts from Silverstone Enterprises and Elite Edge Consortium for the next six months, the
Pennyfeather group’s operations shouldn’t be too rough. The real headache, though, was the fact that
thepany’s top management was still up in the air.
Maja had gone through the candidates‘ profiles over and over again. They were all young, but beyond
their resumes, she knew nothing about them.
“Ms. Pennyfeather, we’re about to jump into a bidding war along with several otherpanies,” Zoey
said. “It’s a project green–lighted by the former CEO a year ago, aiming to beef up the Pennyfeather
group and add more production lines. The bid’s about a development on the east side of the city, and
it’s kicking off tomorrow. I thought you might not be in the loop, so I’m just giving you a heads up”
Back when Neil was calling the shots, he was all about expanding thepany.
Since they’d alreadymitted to the bid, even if Maja wasn’t keen on adding more production lines
right now, she’d have to show her face at the bidding.
“Ms. Pennyfeather, I’ve sent you the info on the otherpanies involved in the bid.”
Maja booted up herputer, and the EverBest Group, belonging to the Shepard family, popped up.
They were in the real estate business, so their involvement in the bid was a no–brainer.
Zoey added a note in the email: “Since we’re locking horns with the EverBest Group in this bid, and
given that Carlene spilled the beans about her n to take over ourpanyst time, I’m guessing
there’ll be quite a crowd at the bid. They’ll probably want to see what happens when our two
Zoey agreed.
The Greenfield Gardens project was moving along smoothly. However, during Maja’sst site visit, she
floated the idea–of.designing an art studio on the second floor. The construction workers asked her if
she wanted to change the second floor’s design or stick with the original n.
After breakfast, Maja got a call from Silverstone Enterprises.
On this issue,n hadn’t given Maja a straight answer yet.
Maja rang upn to get his take.
But he didn’t pick up.
Frowning, Maja dialed him up again.
The moment the call connected, he hung up.

Clearly,n was ducking her calls on purpose.
Maja took a deep breath, and then her phone pinged with a new message.
It was fromn.
[Call me on your private number.]
Looking at the message, Maja found it rather amusing.
There was no way Maja would use her private number to call him.
In the best–case scenario, once their spat was over, she could easily take off to another country in
three months.
By then, Grandpa Holden’s condition should also be better.
Maja didn’t respond ton’s message and instead went straight to the Raymond Corporation.
But there was no response.
His face darkened noticeably as he tossed his phone aside.
After dealing with paperwork for half an hour, someone knocked on his office door.
“Come in.”
Maja pushed the door open and walked in.
“Mr. Raymond.”
Her hand was bandage–free today, hanging by her side.
He put down his pen and took a moment to check out her outfit.
She hadn’t nned to go to the Pennyfeather group today, so she was dressed pretty casually in
wide–leg ck pants and a white cinched blouse with puffed sleeves.
She had a well proportioned figure, and her outfit made her look delicate and elongated her legs. This
was the first time he’d seen her dressed like this.
The moment his eyes met hers, his heartbeat seemed to speed up.
“About whether to reserve an art studio in Greenfield Gardens, you didn’t give me an answerst

time.”
Ian shifted his gaze back to her face as she added, “If your future partner likes painting, we can reserve
an art studio on the south side. It overlooks the garden. I’ll make sure the nts in the garden are well
managed. It should be quite inspiring for anyone who paints.”
“Do you like it?” he asked.
Maja paused before replying, “Whether I like it or not is irrelevant.”
“Right. Let’s reserve it then.” He turned back to his documents. “Anything else?”
