    Maja crashed at Rosewood Manor until 8 in the evening, waking up feeling like she had been beaten


    with a stick.


    Maria had made some soup, which she sipped on.


    ‘Ms. Pennyfeather, you look like you’re going through something. Need a doctor to take a look?”


    Maja shook her head and said, “No need.”


    Maria could only sigh, “Well, you better take care of yourself. You look like you’ve lost a ton of weight.”


    Maja touched her face, about to say something, when a text from RosenGardenmunity


    management popped up


    “Dear homeowner, during our routine patrolst night, we noticed some activity in your apartment while


    the surveince system was down. We’ve received aint from a neighbor suggesting you might


    be involved in illegal activities The police am now involved, we hope you’ll cooperate

    Maja was ticked off. After dinner, she drove to RosenGarden and there she was, Rita with the cops,


    looking all smug. It seemed like things with Ryan Elston were going well for her


    Upon seeing Maja, Rita pointed right at her.


    “There she is! Those two guys wereing out of her apartment. Her personal life has always been a


    mess”


    Maja ignored her and told the police, “I haven’t been staying here recently, the ce was probably


    burgled. I hope the police can help investigate this.” Rita butted in.


    “Don’t y innocent! You know what you did, you’re just scared that others will find out.”


    Maja smirked. “Miss Rita, I’d like to have a word with you in private, can we talk over there?”


    She gestured towards aer down the hallway.


    Rita thought Maja was scared and snorted, “If you want to apologize, do it here, in front of everyone.”


    “I don’t want to apologize. I want to talk to you about Ryan.”


    Rita frowned and followed Maja to the corner


    “What’s this about?”


    Before she could finish, Maja pped her twice


    Rita’s face instantly swelled up, and she tasted blood.


    Maja was already in a sour mood, and Rita was just in the wrong ce at the wrong time. And she


    certainly wouldn’t p someone in front of the cops; that’s why she made up an excuse to get Rita


    away.


    This part of the hallway wasn’t covered by surveince cameras, Maja had made sure of that


    “You dare to hit me?”


    Rita couldn’t believe it, but the next second, Maja grabbed her by the hair and mmed her head into


    the wall.


    “Bang!”


    Rita felt dizzy. “Help! I’m being attacked!”


    This corner was out of sight, no one from the outside could see it.


    Rita was trembling with fear, she hadn’t expected Maja to get physical or to be so ruthless.


    “Shout again, and I’ll give you a splitting headache”


    Rita was so scared she didn’t dare move, tears streaming down her face


    Maja had gone mad, the cops were just around theer, and she dared to do this


    “Just wait, I’ll tell Ryan.” Rita was sobbing.


    Maja said, “You live right across from me, it’s very convenient for me to do whatever I want. Miss Rita, if


    you continue to nder me, I won’t hesitate to use a knife. and let’s both go out in a ze of glory. I’ve


    been having some trouble recently, I don’t really feel like living; I wouldn’t mind having somepany


    in death.”


    Maja’s words were firm, as if she were truly backed into a corner


    For someone like Rita, unless she was truly terrified, Maja would have endless trouble in the future.


    Rita was kneeling on the floor, her face wet with tears.


    Maja crouched down to look at her and patted her swollen cheek, not holding back at all.


    “If I were you, I’d cherish my current life and wouldn’t go looking for trouble. Miss Rita, your life is too


    good, it makes me jealous. How can a woman leap across sses? It’s really not fair.”


    Maja spoke with augh, her palm lightly touching Rita’s neck.


    “If you cause trouble for me again, I’ll be waiting for you at my doorstep, and fil stab you a few times.


    We can die together.”


    Maja pulled back her hand, looking at her calmly


    “You moving won’t help, I can get in touch with Mr. Elston. As long as I see you, I can deal with you.”


    Maja leaned closer, her eyes filled with resolve.


    “I can’t stand others being happier than me.”


    Majd was pulling on a show, she wanted Rita to know that she was desperate to find a partner to die


    with.


    Rita was so scared by Maja’s determined look that she couldn’t say a word.


    Because of her yelling earlier, the cops hade over and, seeing Rita on the floor, asked, “What


    happened?”


    Maja helped her up: “Nothing serious, she was probably scared by the thief in my apartment, she does


    live next door after all.”
