The assistant hung her head even lower. “We really don’t know that, Miss Reed. We asked the
coborating manufacturer, and they said that it was someone with a powerful background who
intercepted our parts. As for who the person was, the coborating manufacturer didn’t tell us about it;
it was as if they had scruples about doing so. They only told us that the person wasn’t a local and told
us to find out about it on our own.”
