Chapter 312
Luca’s POV
A new day hase and the location of the phone call had ended yo being a dead end, like the clove
on the phone had said it was going to be, which was why I wasn’t all that disappointed. But I was really
angry, angrier than I had been the night before.
The voices of the voice on the phone, had been narrowed down to three, which all looked too young to
be in the mafia. I had a hunch that the person who I had spoken tost night might be one of them,
which meat only one thing; I hadn’t spoken to the bossst night like I had suspected, but had spoken
to a kid that had probably been paid fo do that, or had been ckmailed into doing that. My guess was
right because when I had called the number again, the voice had beenpletely different from how it
had soundedst night.
When I had called the unknown voice out on his bullshit and that I had been able to figure out who had
been on the callst night and that it wasn’t one of them, the voice had onlyughed and apud my
smartness for being able to figure that out so fast. I asked the voice if he was sure my brother was still
alive but the voice only asked me if I was sure his diamond was alsoing to him, whilepletely
ignoring my question.
After the call had ended, I had ordered for those three young looking guys whose voice had matched
the voice on the phonest night, in order ro force the truth out of him and to rat out the person he had
helped impersonate on the callst night. A few hourster and I got informed that they were only able
to find two of those three young looking boys, and thzt the third one was found dead by his mum at the
back of their house, with a deep gunshot wound. I didn’t need to be outrightly told that the person who I
had talked to a few hours ago on the call, had been the one behind this, it was so damn obvious.
When I had called him again, he informed me that he knew I was going to go try to question that boy
fast, which was why he took the boy’s life to protect himself, he also went on about how smart I was
before I had angrily ended the call. It didn’t end there though.
I received a call from one of the underground lords I had went to visitst night, and was off to see him
as soon as he had informed me that he had found something. James was currently in a meeting, taking
my spot because there was no way I’d be able to function in the office today, with all what was
happening right now.

The underground lord was named Garrick, a man who I had known for a really long time. He was one
of the few people who I had gone to school with, that ended up being really sessful. Whereby I
never really liked the mafia lifestyle and was living it because it had no choice, Garrick loved it so damn
much. We’ve helped out each other a few times, and that was the reason why he was trying to do the
same to me right now.
I arrived at his ce in no time, and thankfully, he presented me with an actual lead this time. Turns out
the person who was behind this was like a prodigal child, and was probably thinking he’d be able to win
his father over and he let into his mafia, by taking the diamond he was requesting for him his father.

That left us with different leads; to find out which family my family had fought with all because of the
supposed diamond, it was definitely going to be one of the sons of that family – because the voice had
clearly spoke like the diamond had been originally theirs but got taken from them by my family,
meanwhile I was told by my father that the diamond belonged to our family but was stolen from them by
the other family – and that he had been the one to thankfully get it back from the family who had stolen
it, and I had believed him because one thing my father would never do was to lie about that.
If he had indeed stolen the diamond, he’d have informed me.
Garrick also found more leads and when I told him of the young boy who he had spoken to the night
before, that had recently been killed, Garrick promised to look into it and to go male more enquirers.

The young looking boy who had been killed, had thankfully told his friend about what he was getting
himself into before he had done it. And so when Garrick went over there to investigate, the friend of the
now deceased boy had told Garrick all what his dead friend had told him.
And as they had guessed right, the person behind it all was one of the sons of the family who were not
in good terms with Luca’s family, all because of the diamond. The person had been disappeared from
Italy for a really long time as well.
Luca wasn’t going to drop this easily, he was going to hold the family of the person behind this whole
thing, should anything happen to his brother.

I had already lost all hopes when thest trail ended up being the right one. It had literally taken me off
guards because I hadn’t even been all that prepared, thinking it was going to end up being a dead end.
But it wasn’t.
And it was all because people ratted each other out and one person also ratted out the person behind
this whole thing, to one of the underground lords which I had gone to meetst night.
It wasn’t easy. The person didn’t give up with a fight. But because he was a prodigal son, he didn’t
have enough guards and the few people he had, had easily ratted him out because they didn’t have
much faith in him. And so it ended up resulting in an open fire. A few of Luca’s men met their deaths,
Armani got shot in his elbow and shoulder by the person behind it all and James and I missed getting
shot because of how fast we were.
But all that’s important now, Is that Armani was alive and that we’ve found him.
Even though he was currently unconscious and bleeding.
