Chapter 310
Luca’s POV
As expected, there were no footage of the kidnapping scene in the cameras, and so that left us to
scanning the te number and following it, in hopes of catching up with the kidnappers. It wasn’t long
that we got the car if the te number, and began to follow it. I knew it was going to ne way too easy if
we end up finding Armani this way, all because we looked for the te number.
As expected, the te number led us to a dead end. It wasn’t like a dead endpletely, it was an end
that made it sink in that all what was currently happening was way more serious than I expected.
The supposed car which we had traced down to this very spot, was inplete shambles. The car was
urred here, and from how warm the dead bodies in the car was, it was very obvious that it hadn’t
been long since the men were killed.
“Fuck… just fuck.” James cursed from the other side of the car, he was also surveying everywhere, and
checking if any of the people in the car were still alive, but I knew that was impossible. The now dead
people were dressed in ck and also still had masks on, it was very obvious that these were the
people who had kidnapped Armani, telling from what Sofia had described to me, and they were also
there in numbers.
What was also obvious here was that, these people were ambushed by some other people, who killed
them and took Armani to God knows where.
“Armani isn’t here, the people who cornered these people definitely has him.” James finally announced
the same thing that I had just silently concluded on. I ran my fingers through my hair and angrily kicked
the dead body beside my feet.
This was not good, it wasn’t good at all. We are more or less at a dead end right now.
“Who are these people?” I asked as I gestured at the messy scene we were both currently standing in.
We had guards with us right now, who were making sure nothing takes up by surprise here, by
watching everywhere and being at alert.
“I already took pictures of them, we’d find out who they are soon, I don’t recognize any of them, but I
have a feeling they knew who we are, and also knew who Armani was.” James stated as he came
around to stand beside me.
“Or what if someone asked them to do the kidnapping and just showed them a list? And those set of
people had broken the deal and killed the kidnappers without paying them for kidnapping Armani?” I
asked after a few moments while still regarding the dead body which I had kicked some moments ago.
James hummed as he crouched and pulled off the mask of the body at our feet, as he regarded his
face.
“Now that you’ve said that, they don’t even look like Italians all that much, but then we can’t be so
sure.” He murmured as he pushed himself to his feet once again.
“If I was indeed right, that means someone was definitely behind all these, someone who knew that
Armani had arrived here in Italyst night.” I stated as I shoved my hands into my pockets.
“There’s definitely a rat in our midst.” James hummed out after a few moments and I couldn’t agree
more because that was already ringly obvious, it was what I had concluded on even before I had left
the house a few hours ago.
“It isn’t save to be out here, let’s head out.” I finally murmured as I turned around and began to walk.
James fell into steps beside me instantly.
“We’d find him.” James spoke after s little while and I remained silent, not sure of how to respond to
that.
“And don’t me yourself for this,” James warned after a few moments. I turned around to regard him

At the mention of Sofia, a fleeting image of her sobbing face shed in my head and I felt my heart
ache a little. James was right, Armani was the older one between them, he should have known better,
Sofia wasn’t even up to neen yet.
I ran my hands through my hair and let out a long sigh. “Aren’t you finding it weird that Sofia wasn’t
taken as well? Or even injured?” James asked as we both sank into the car.

“Whoever it is that’s behind this is definitely going to pay.” I finally breathed out.

After making some more hardcore investigations because we were unable to track Armani’s phone, I
had to go down thene I swore I wasn’t ever going to, which was to visit the underground lords,
because I needed all the help I was going to get. A few of those underground lords owed me one of
me, and this was a perfect situation to use those Favors. After a few more hours, we were able to know
that those who had abducted Armani were that– just kidnappers, who had a lot of cops searching for
them, because of the amount of crime they hadmitted.
What we were still unable to know, was who it was that had hired those kidnappers.
After some more digging, because James had remembered to take the phone he saw on one of those
dead bodies, we found a few things that could be helpful in the phone, and as expected, it led to a dead
end.
I was already getting more frustrated and more angry, when one of the guards who I had asked to go
search the whole ce, came back with a folded paper he found beneath a stone.
The paper contained a few sentences, that proved that indeed, I was definitely being ratted out. The
person behind this whole thing was asking for a particr diamond which had been in my family for
hundreds of years. There was also a number left behind, and I was a little bit relived, that at least, we
finally have where to start from.
