Chapter 2871
At the entrance of a hotel in Newcove, Mueller and Nathan were shaking hands before they
separated.
Grinning, Mueller said, “Mr. Cross, don''t you worry. I will receive an update tomorrow, so we can
meet again.”
Nathan beamed. “Sure!”
He and Penny drove back to their temporary amodation.
Feeling excited, Kraven told Nathan, “We will finally find out where Master is tomorrow. I''m both
delighted and worried!”
Nathan nodded. “Tonight shall be a sleepless night. I hope Mueller delivers good news tomorrow.”
That night, Nathan had difficulty falling asleep and only did so in the wee hours of the morning.
Nathan woke up at dawn.
He washed himself up and did some exercise. After he had breakfast with Penny, it was almost nine
in the morning.
Nathan led Penny, Colin, Kraven, and his other subordinates to pay Mueller a visit at his residence.
He wanted to know where Lothar was as soon as possible.
When Nathan arrived, Mueller came out to wee him personally and led him to the reception
room.
They took their seats, and a servant served them tea.
Miller shot Nathan a weing smile. “Mr. Cross, you''re here this early as you''re concerned about
Lothar''s whereabouts, right?”
Nathan chuckled. “I owe my master a lot. I was worried as he went missing in recent years. Thus,
I''d like to know his whereabouts as soon as possible.”

Mueller bobbed his head. “Don''t worry. I sent my trusted subordinates to find out where your master
is. They found some clues previously, so I believe they will give me an answer today.”
Right after he said that, a female secretary rushed in hastily and whispered something in Mueller''s
ear.
Mueller''s expression changed drastically.
Shocked, he blurted out, “What? The men I sent to find Lothar''s whereabouts are either dead or
unreachable?” There was also a hint of fury in his voice.
Hearing that, Nathan furrowed his brows.
Behind Nathan, Kraven couldn''t help but grow anxious.
The female secretary lowered her head and responded in a low voice, “Yes. I just received news
that most of the men you sent were killed overnight. The rest were unreachable as though they had
disappeared into thin air.”
Mueller was infuriated.
He was the mayor of the biggest city in Ariarica, a bigwig who no one dared to offend.
I sent my subordinates to help Nathan find his master, but they are either dead or unreachable.
Who is that arrogant to touch my men?
Enraged, he dered, “Start an investigation now! I want to know who has the guts to touch my
men!”
His secretary was about to reply in the affirmative when Mueller''s phone rang. It was a call from an
unknown number.
Without thinking much, Mueller answered the call. “Hello?”
A deep and icy voice greeted him, “Mr. Mueller, I was the one who disposed of your subordinates,
and you''re not safe either. I want you to stop searching for Lothar Macmaster even though you''ve
agreed to help Nathan Cross.”
Shock crept up Mueller''s face as he eximed, “Who are you?”
The icy voice replied, “Who am I? Can''t you recognize my voice? We just met yesterday.”
Mueller''s entire being trembled at the reminder as he finally realized who it was.
It was none other than Ariarica''s own Five-star General, Admiral Max.
Max added, “Lothar''s matter is a national secret. Stop digging into the matter and find an excuse to
brush Nathan off.”
Mueller''s fury had faded away when he realized that it was Max on the phone. He replied weakly,
“All right. I understand.”
The call was ended.
The moment he hung up, the secretary said, “Sir, I shall ry your order to the respective
departments to find out who killed our men. We''ll also find out where the missing men are!”
She turned around to leave.
However, Mueller stopped her. “Wait a minute.”
Stunned, she turned over her shoulder to see an embarrassed Mueller.
“Stay put for now. We can deal with itter,” he said awkwardly.
The secretary was confused.
However, she noticed how awkward Mueller looked and realized his change in demeanor had
something to do with the phone call.
She gave a curt nod and didn''t question his decision. “Understood.”
She then left the reception room.
