Not only had Sketch''s left leg been fractured, but the barrel of a gun was stuffed into his open mouth. Even if he wanted to beg for mercy, he could not speak.
His subordinates, who had been nning to smoke leisurely while enjoying the show, finally snapped out of their shock. All of them immediately jumped into action.

One after another, disembodied arms and the guns they were holding fell to the ground as Ava danced among the men.
The men fell to their knees in a pool of their own blood, clutching at where their missing arm had been and wailing in pain. Sketch watched the scene unfold from his peripheral vision. His eyes widened in horror.
Nathan''s move earlier had shocked him. He could never have guessed that his female assistant would be just as terrifying.
With just two daggers, she had sliced off the right arms of his dozen or so subordinates in a matter of seconds, as if they were nothing.

A slow apuse sounded.
Nathan and Ava turned to look in the direction of the sound. A middle-aged man about one point-eight meter tall with a body built like a tank was walking toward them while pping loudly.
The man was wearing green camouge pants,bat boots, and a ck jacket with nothing underneath.
He had a rugged look about him, with a thick ck beard and a pair of piercing eyes that lent him a domineering air.
This man was ckbeard, the captain of the most notorious and biggest pirate crew on Mille Crescent Ind.
A gang of men trailed behind him, his infamous pirate warriors.
ckbeard approached them with a
grin, still apuding slowly. "Are you the man sent by the five great families? Haha! You are skilled indeed! It''s no wonder the five great families chose you to speak to me!" Nathan slowly withdrew the gun that he had been forcing down Sketch''s throat and casually tossed it aside. He asked calmly, "Are you the one they call ckbeard?"
ckbeard bared his teeth in a smile that did not quite reach his eyes.
"That is I. What a pleasure it is to meet you, and how should I address you?"
"It''s Cross," Nathan replied simply.
ckbeard waited for Nathan to finish, but he did not reveal his first name to ckbeard. They would remain on ast-name basis only.
A hint of dissatisfaction gleamed in the depths of ckbeard''s eyes.
He won''t even tell me his name? It''s fine if he doesn t want to reveal his origin or background, but he won''t even tell me his name. How dare he! He dares to disrespect me?
Even the heads of the five great families would not dare disrespect him in this way.

He turned to look at Nathan, and his tone turned cold. "It seems, Mr. Cross, that this is all your doing," he said in the voice of a judge delivering his verdict.
