    Phoebe shed a look of surprise on her face. Marriages between distinguished families were rarely


    pure and weremonly associated with mutual benefits for the families involved.


    However, for Santiago to say it outright that he wanted both to marry her and also use her family''s


    connections to further his own agenda came as a surprise for her.


    “I''m sure you''re aware that I had an engagement with Darren Dilk before he died and that I hosted


    his funeral as his widow. Do you not mind?” Phoebe said nonchntly.


    “He''s already dead, so why would I?” Santiago calmly rebutted the loaded question.


    Phoebe was stunned at how casually he answered her.

    marry me, you can do it on one condition. It could also be treated as a test of your capabilities. If

    Santiago took a sip from his ss and replied with a smug grin, “You want me to help you get rid of


    the General of the North, Nathan Cross, don''t you?”


    Phoebe was surprised by how quickly Santiago managed to grasp the situation yet again. This man


    is far too intelligent!


    “What do you say?” she asked with a squint.


    “Well, they do say that whoever kills the king gets to be one, and I have always fancied the position


    of Commander-in-chief of the North Army. I can help you get rid of Nathan, but I''d like to take over


    his spot after that,” Santiago answered with a chuckle.


    “As long as you take care of Nathan, I''ll marry you, and you''ll be part of the Davier family. Rest


    assured - nothing is impossible for us,” Phoebe responded.


    Santiago''s eyes lit up with a burning passion upon hearing her words.

    Clifford Davier and Boris Tucker. If Clifford really does be the next President, I could make use
