Chapter 787 Sorry For Putting You Through This
Nathan did not wait for Jay to say anything before he hung up.
Thinking that Nathan had been calling Zayn, a cold and expectant gleam shone in David''s eyes.
This was Glyngarth, not Northania. Even if Zayn came, there was nothing much that he could do. The end result would be the
same... Both Crosses dead!
Minutes ticked by.
ncing at the gold watch on his wrist, David shot a mean nce at Nathan. "Your time''s nearly up, yet | still see no sign of your
men. Looks like I''ll just have to do away with you first!"
He was just about to order his men to attack when a loud wailing came closer.
It was the sound of police sirens!
Within seconds, more than a hundred police cars arrived on the scene. There were even a few SWAT vans.
Scores of policemen in bulletproof vests poured from their cars, each armed with their pistols.
Several teams of SWAT members leaped out of their vans, their submachine guns held at the ready, as they gathered before the
hotel.
Up, on the rooftops, a few teams of snipers were trying to find the best location to snipe from. Their movements were swift as
they assembled their sniper rifles and aimed them at the hotel lobby.
David and his men werepletely stunned at the sight.
He whipped his head around to stare at Nathan, muttering usingly, "You''d called the police?"
He had thought that Nathan would be calling Zayn, not the police!
What puzzled him more, was that he and Mr. Cote had already spoken to the various leaders of Glyngarth, requesting that they
turn a blind eye to what would happen.
But then why had the police still been mobilized? And such an intimidating turnout too!
Taking in the terrified expression on David''s face, Nathan grinned. "I didn''t call the police. | merely did as you requested and
randomly called for someone to help.”
“If you didn''t call them, why would they be here? You''re not honorable at all!" the fat man protested.
Abruptly, a voice sounded from the entrance of the hotel, "| mobilized them!"
Everyone turned to look in the direction of the voice.
Atall, lean man in his fifties strode inside the hotel while being protected by a squad of SWAT members.
The color drained from David''s face when he saw the man. In a hoarse voice, he called out, "Mr. Governor!"
It was none other than the governor of the East, Jay Watts.
Jay ignored the overweight man as he rushed to stand before Nathan. Bowing low, he gripped one of Nathan''s hands with both
of his. His smile was ingratiating as he simpered, "Mr. Cross, I''m so sorry for putting you through such a horrible situation. This
was negligence on my part!"
David''s eyes bulged out and he could hardly believe what he was seeing.
Just who is this man? Even the governor has to be so deferential to him!
The Smiths were equally bewildered as they exchanged nces with each other.? 2024 N?v/el/Dram/a.Org.
