    Megan heaved a sigh of relief upon that thought. At least it had been proven that Herman wouldn’t be

    Pierce wasn’t buying her excuse. Nevertheless, he didn’t probe any further.


    They walked over to the cashier together as Pierce ced the book on the counter. He suddenly turned
