Chapter 1426
Teagan did not expect that someone else would also be around
“Who are you?” Her expression looked as if Alexis was the uninvited guest instead.
“I am her mother-inw Who are you?” Alexis was curious.
Before Ashlynn said anything. Teagan started introducing herself, “I am Ashlynn’s father’s girlfriend.”
“Oh. I see.” Alexis understood.
Just as Ashlynn wanted to deny it, she was pulled away by Alexis. “You’ve been downstairs for quite a
while. The biscuits still need some time before they’re done. Go upstairs to have a rest. I’ll entertain this
guest.”
“She’s not…”
“It’s fine. It’s fine. Leave it to me. Don’t worry!” Alexis ordered the servant next to them, “Take her
upstairs to have a rest.”
Ashlynn shot a cold nce at Teagan. Indeed, she truly did not wish to interact with this person deep
down.
Before she went upstairs, she said, “Just kick her out. There’s no need for you to entertain her.”
“I know, I know. Hurry up upstairs and have a rest!”
After Ashlynn returned to her room, she reclined on her bed and scrolled through her phone in
boredom.
After scrolling for a while, it was already getting dark outside, and it even started raining.
She was wondering if the biscuit needed such a long time to be done. Nobody came and told her to go
downstairs either.
Could it be that Teagan still has not left? Nothing could have happened, could it not?
Ashlynn got out of bed, walked to the balcony, and looked down.
The balcony of this room was facing right at the direction of the mountains behind the mansion.
There seemed to be someone by the clear riverbank, and the person was holding a shovel…to dig up a
hole in the ground.
The person did not even have an umbre. What did the person want to do?
The incessant rain reduced the recognizability of the person, so Ashlynn had no clue who was out
there.
Ashlynn went downstairs. She did not see either Teagan or Alexis.
Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDra/ma.O(r)g!
She asked the servant but was told that she had no idea.
Ashlynn asked the servant to bring her an umbre, then she turned around and walked toward the
back.
She kept feeling that something was’not quite right.
She walked toward the river.
The closer she got, the clearer the figure looked.
It was Alexis
She was previously digging up a hole, but she was filling up the hole at that moment.
Just when Ashlynn was finding it strange, lightning struck, and the hand that was exposed above the
dirt made her stunned and she looked terrified.
“What are you doing?” Ashlynn rushed over
Alexis stopped her. “Why are you out? You just recovered It’s pouring. You should be careful not to
catch a cold.”
“You. You’re.” Ashlynn stuttered.
“Don’t worry I’ll handle it well. Hurry up and go back. I’ll be done with the burying soon!” Alexis pushed
Ashlynn back.
Ashlynn froze on the spot. As she listened to the sound of the shovel moving the dirt, waves of chills
came over her body.
She watched as someone else buried a body in broad daylight, and it was just a few steps away from
her.
She turned around and saw Alexis working hard. There was even aforting smile on Alexis’ face. It
looked as if she was a farmer hard at work.
That sent a chill down Ashlynn’s spine.
All she heard was the pitter-patter of the rain on the umbre.
That gave the weather an eerie sense of dread.
Ashlynn could not hold it in anymore. She turned around and went into the mansion.
She threw the umbre on the ground.
Then, she went upstairs with her mind distracted. She ran into the room to grab her phone and called
Corentin. “Are…you back yet? How long till you arrive home?”
“Did something happen?”
Ashlynn swallowed her saliva nervously. “Come back quick…”
About ten minutester, a Bintley drove into the mansion. The subordinate went to open the car door
with an umbre in hand.
When they heard the sound of the car engine outside, Ashlynn was pinned by Alexis on the couch to
have the biscuits.
Ashlynn waspletely distracted.
Alexis looked as if nothing had happened. After burying the body, she washed her hands and sat down
to have the biscuits with her. Alexis even asked her if the biscuits tasted good. She was acting
extremely normal.
