Chapter 1404
“I told you it’s not the right time because Grandpa just passed away.”
“Don’t you think I can tell if it’s really not the right time or if you’re just giving me an excuse?” Ashlynn did
not answer him as she thought he was annoying.
How could Corentin not understand what she was feeling and why she stayed by his side?
“Are you annoyed?”
Ashlynn felt ufortable, and she wanted to sit. However, just as she raised her upper body, Corentin
pressed her down with one hand, letting her lie down again.
“We already took our marriage certificate, so is it necessary to have a wedding banquet? We can be
together, and it’s not a marriage of convenience. Marriage of convenience doesn’t involve feelings…just
like you and Meredith, will there be feelings?” Ashlynn knew that Corentin would not let her go if she did
not tell the reason, so she just said it.
Corentin narrowed his eyes slightly and stared at her.
Ashlynn was smart with a high IQ and the only one from the slum who studied at a well-known university.
No matter how quick-witted Salvatore was, he was not good at his studies. Naturally, he wanted what he
did not have.
Even though those words were unlikely to be true, Corentin was satisfied.
The car returned to the mansion.
As soon as she got out of the car, Ashlynn saw another familiar car.
It was Jeremy’s.
Corentin nced at the car, looking indifferent. Immediately, a devilish gaze shed in his eyes, and he
kissed Ashlynn’s soft lips, “Dear, are you still sleepy?”
Ashlynn was taken aback by his affectionate behavior.
When they arrived at the living room, Jeremy was sitting on the sofa, looking at the two people who
came in unhappily.
When they walked into the mansion, Corentin’s arm was around Ashlynn’s shoulder.
Was this for real or just an act?
Corentin let go of the hand around Ashlynn’s shoulder and walked to the sofa. “When did youe?
Have you eaten?”
“I’ve eaten, and I came because I was passing by the area. Am I not wee?” Jeremy asked.
“Of course not. You’re Ash’s younger brother and my brother-inw. You’re wee anytime and
anywhere,” Corentin greeted him politely and calmly.
Jeremy was not going to change his mind about Corentin just because of that.
He already made himself an enemy by hurting Beth.
If it were not for Ashlynn, he would have already done something to Corentin.

Ashlynn paid attention to Corentin’s eyes and sat next to him.
As soon as she sat down, Corentin took her hand and ced it on hisp.
“Where did you go?” Jeremy asked, trying to ignore their actions.
“We ate at the Lloyd family’s chateau,” Ashlynn said, “I didn’t know you wereing, or I would’vee
back earlier.”
“It’s okay. I’m not in a hurry anyway.” Jeremy replied. Then, he nced at the second floor and added, “Is
there a room for me here? asionally, if Ie toote, I can stay here.”
“Sure.” Corentin smiled faintly.
Jeremy said that, but he did not really want to live here.
He had to keep an eye on Corentin’s attitude toward Ashlynn.
If Corentin dared to bully her, it did not matter if they were husband and wife, and he would make sure
they divorced.
Ashlynn spoke at the right time, “Mom’s injuries are still not healed. You have to tell her to rest. Also,
remember to go home often. Now that Mom manages thepany, her workload will be heavier, and
should help her.”

“I know. There’s one more thing-I won’t go to the Lloyd Group. Although they’ll lose a talent, I have no
other choice,” Jeremy said without shame. Then, he stood up. “I’m going back.”
“I’ll see him off,” Ashlynn said, sending Jeremy out the door.
Walking to the side of the car, Jeremy said to her in a serious tone, “Blink if you’re bullied by Corentin.”
Ashlynnughed. “What are you saying? You should go back quickly. Don’t let Mom and Dad worry
about you.”
