Chapter 1393
“Crescent, tell me if you really want to spend the rest of your life with Corentin. If you don’t want to, I
can resolve this,” old Mr. Hilton asked.
Ashlynn lowered her gaze to hide her real emotions.
She did not want to spend the rest of her life with a monster like Corentin and if possible, she would
have preferred to stay as far away from him as possible, but she did not know how the Hiltons could
help her.
Corentin possessed a tremendous number of photos and videos of her in unspeakable states and she
could not risk to gamble, knowing just how devilish Corentin was.
“Since we are already married, I just want to…live peacefully,” she said.
“What I said when you were a baby still stands. You are still the heiress of the Hilton family if you want
to be. Will you ept it?” Old Mr. Hilton asked.
Not only was Ashlynn shocked, both Marshall and Beth were stunned as well.
Ashlynn had been separated from the Hilton family for most of her life and none of them knew about
her ability in running a business.
Back when old Mr. Hilton chose Crescent as his heiress, he nned to raise her into the role.
“Dad, you’ve always valued the family business so you might want to think it over. Crescent doesn’t
know anything about the operation,” Beth said.
“And she can learn. She is still young.” Old Mr. Hilton was determined to spoil his granddaughter with
all that he had.
“Dad, maybe we should see what Crescent thinks about it,” Marshall said.
Old Mr. Hilton turned to look at Ashlynn endearingly. “Crescent, what do you think? Don’t worry, just
speak
your mind.”
“I’ve just found out about this and I don’t know anything else. If I’m named heiress to the Hilton family
ast soon as I’m back, this will affect the family along with thepany drastically. Apart from that, that’s
going to make me the target of jealousy and resentment especially because I’m not proven worthy of
the role yet. I believe there are better candidates for it, Grandpa,” Ashlynn analyzed the situation
calmly.
Old Mr. Hilton nodded in content. “As expected of a daughter of the Hilton Family.”
Both Beth and Marshall nodded in pride.
“It’s okay. Take it slow. Grandpa will guide you every step of the way.”
Ashlynn noticed that old Mr. Hilton seemed to hang on to the thought of making her the heiress despite
what she said earlier.
The Hiltons stayed for hours before leaving and Beth gave Ashlynn her phone, reminding her to call
every once in a while.
Once old Mr. Hilton was inside the car, Ashlynn stood by the car door and said, “I wille to visit
you.”
“Sure. I will wait for you. Come by with Corentin.” Old Mr. Hilton was overjoyed.
“…Sure.”
Ashlynn stood and watched as the cars disappeared into the distance.
It felt wonderful to be cared for and she longed to leave with them.
Corentin returned home at night for dinner and asked, “The Hiltons were here?”
Ashlynn knew that he already knew the answer to that question.
“Yeah.”
“Why didn’t you leave with them?”
Enraged, she took two deep breaths and said, “With your approval, I’m going to leave right now.”
He grabbed her cheek endearingly. “You can go, but only with my approval.”
She shoved his hand aside and a red mark appeared on her cheek. Corentin had not used much force,
but her skin was delicate.
“Grandpa said that you cane along if I go to visit,” she said, hinting that the Hiltons did not intend
on eliminating Corentin, so he should be treated with more respect.
“The Hiltons are smarter than you.”
Ashlynn felt offended, but was too tired to argue.
Just then, the maid came over with Ashlynn’s phone that was ringing.
She took the phone and saw Beth’s name on the disy. Seeing how Corentin seemed to be
reasonable for the time being, she answered the call right away. “Hello…”
“Crescent, you might need toe over now…” Beth said hoarsely.
“Now?” Ashlynn instinctively nced at Corentin.

“Your grandfather felt unwell aftering home this evening and his condition had been worsening
when we called him out for dinner. He refuses to go to the hospital and says that he wants to see you…
I think he…won’t make it for long…” Beth choked on her voice.
“What….he was perfectly fine when he came by!” Ashlynn panicked.
“I don’t know…” Beth said tiredly.
“I…I will go over now. Don’t panic. Grandpa is going to be fine.” She hung up and said to Corentin. “My
grandpa is unwell and I need to go over right now.”
“You are not a doctor so what’s the point for you to go?” He said emotionlessly..
Furious, she stood abruptly. “My mom said that it’s not looking good and this might be thest time I
see him. He wants to see me, and if you don’t approve, you can just do with my photos and videos
however you want!” She then turned to leave, but was instantly dragged backward.
“Corentin, don’t challenge my boundaries. I am going there today no matter wh-”
“I’ll give you a ride:” Corentin let go of her arm with a dark look in his eyes.
She was stunned for a moment, expecting Corentin to force her to stay.
