Chapter 1292
“You want to rece the Pinnacle Academy?” Anne realized that it had been his ambition all along and
gaped. “No, Anthony, you can’t do that! Let the Pinnacle. Academy be. It won’t stand in your way!”
“Recing it was bound to happen anyway. Lucas’s downfall is your fault,” Anthony said.
“Why do you have to be so possessive? If there’s really something between me and Lucas, you wouldn’t
stand a chance.” Anne did not know how she could change Anthony’s mind, but all she knew was that if
she failed to do so, the academy of decades of history would disappear.
‘What of the Newman Family, then? What about Lucas? Losing everything overnight. could drive him
mad!’ She thought.
Anthony darted forward and grabbed her by the jaw, before staring into her eyes. “I wouldn’t stand a
chance? Are you sure?”
Her lips quivered with uncertainty. Anthony was far too powerful and even if she wanted to settle down
with Lucas, they would never stand a chance.
“You were about to get engaged back then, right?” Anthony questioned viciously. Though it was already
in the past, he would still lose his temper at the thought of it. He tightened his grip around Anne’s face,
itching to crush her into pieces.
“Umph…” She scowled in pain and paled. “It’s in the past.”
“The Newman family came to the Archduke Group and I turned them away. Lucas knew that talking to
me won’t help, so he hasn’t shown up once, but he shouldn’t have asked someone else to reach out to
you. That’s the bottom line,” he said mercilessly.
“Is it…so wrong for them to not want to watch as their family business turns into ashes? Anyone would
exhaust every way they can think of,” Anne said sorrowfully.” Just let them go and nothing will happen.
Anthony, you can’t be so cruel…”
“He dares to go to your apartment to see you. I’m already showing mercy for not killing him!” He let her
go coldly. “Calm yourself and get ready for dinner.” He then turned to leave.
Anne watched as Anthony walked away, her heart shattering as she wondered what she was to Anthony.
She had thought that Anthony would care about her feelings since he had married her, but he did not.
His heart belonged to Bianca and he had never once loved Anne; the torture he imposed on her had only
worsen and he would evene close to killing her whenever he lost his temper.
Anne could not understand the man, even when they were being intimate.
After dinner, Anne took the children out for a walk and Anthony apanied them.
The family of five seemed harmoniously as though nothing had happened.
Anthony took a call from work afterward and returned to the study room, while Anne kept her eyes on
Anthony.
She wanted to change Anthony’s mind, no matter the cost.
The triplets were ying amongst themselves, and Anne turned to return to the house, before heading
up the stairs to the study room.
Before she could enter, Mia stopped her. “Mrs. Marwood, are you going to the study room? Mr. Marwood
is busy.”
Anne nced at the closed door. She knew that Anthony was busy, but she needed to find an
opportunity.
“Mr. Marwood seems to be in a bad mood, so maybe it’s best that you don’t disturb him, Mrs. Marwood? I
don’t want him to vent his anger on you,” Mia said.

Anne nced at Mia’s face. “Anthony told you to say that?”
“Of course. I wouldn’t dare to make this up,” Mia lied.
Anne took a deep breath and walked away wordlessly, not worried about her children as the servants
were looking after them.
