    Owen watched as Ashlynn was led into the car by the steward and his men. He could not believe what


    was happening. He had to do something to stop this.


    He quickly pulled out his phone and called Corentin.


    The phone rang for what felt like an eternity before Corentin answered.


    “Mr. Lloyd, Ashlynn was taken away by Cory’s people!” Owen yelled into the phone, his voice shaking


    with fear and desperation.


    “I saw!” Corentin shouted back, his voiceced with anger. “I’m on my way now.”


    Owen breathed a sigh of relief as he heard the sound of a car engine roaring to life in the background.


    He knew that with Corentin on the case, everything would be okay.


    Corentin hung up the phone and threw it onto the passenger seat. He gripped the steering wheel tightly


    with both hands and stepped on the gas pedal, sending his ck Bintley galloping down the viaduct.


    Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Corentin caught up to the car that had taken Ashlynn. He pulled


    his car up alongside it and got out, a cold and elegant expression on his face.


    The butler had no choice but to stop the car. He got out and approached Corentin, trying to reason with


    him while slowly loading his gun.


    “That was quick. Don’t start a conflict.”


    Ashlynn sat still in the car, not even attempting to escape.


    “Young Master, Elder Lloyd wishes to see Ashlynn.”


    Corentin walked up to the butler and pressed the barrel of his gun against the man’s forehead.


    “Stallone, you followed Elder Lloyd through life and death, and I respect you for that. And yet you do


    this to me?” Corentin growled, his voice full of anger and hatred.


    The butler knew he was in trouble. He quickly tried to appease Corentin, exining that the master just


    wanted to meet Ashlynn and that she would not be harmed.


    However, Corentin was having none of it.


    “She is mine! Don’t you think you should get my permission before taking her away?” he shouted, his


    face dark and full of hostility.


    Owen, who had just arrived on the scene, quickly stepped in and opened the car door, allowing


    Ashlynn to get out. She looked at Corentin, her expression neutral, and got into another car without a


    word.


    The butler and his men knew they were no match for Corentin. They retreated back to their car and


    drove away.


    They had nned to take Ashlynn to the chateau when Corentin was absent, but they did not expect


    Corentin to have such a big temper.


    Stallone figured that even if Cory were the one standing here, Corentin would have pointed a gun at his


    head. He was Salvatore, after all. There was nothing he would not do.


    “Young master, we were ordered to bring Ashlynn back to the chateau. How will we report back to Elder


    Lloyd if you stand in the way?”


    “I’ll tell him myself!” Corentin turned and drove away in his Bintley.


    When they arrived, they found Cory standing in front of his desk, practicing calligraphy. Corentin


    stormed into the room and mmed his gun down on the paper, ruining the words that Cory had been


    writing.


    “What is the meaning of this?” Corentin demanded, his voice full of anger and aggression.


    Cory looked up at him, his expression regal andmanding. “I should be the one asking you this! You


    said you were merely keeping her, and now she is pregnant?”
